Did you come here from Space Battles?

Actually, you're responsible for me finding out about SB. I was already meandering around SD. I saw the essay on Wong's Hatemail page.Alyeska wrote:So that means I am partialy responsible for your being at SD.net. Cool.

No, I went over there for a bit because people here told me about it. I like the fact that you can change your title and they have a couple smileys that I really like, but other than that, everything's MUY better over here.

Yes and no. I was a member of SB (Redneck Jedi), and then I went off to boot camp. AOTC came out while I was in boot, so liberty weekend I checked this site to find out what were the thoughts and if it contradicted AOTC ICS or not. And I found there was a message board here now. So as soon as I got to Charleston and a computer, I registered.
So I was prior SB, but I came here not from there.

Nope, am a TGU sort of chap... a tuguh... rawr... or something. Although to be fair, I don't actually go there much any more, I don't have the energy to spare on the board war and this place is far more active. Check back there every now and again, checking mod progress and all that. Although TGU does kindly host the site, not sure whether I should get a new host or not, it seems a bit unfair if I dont post there much any more to take up their webspace.

Lack of fundies? When? Ever since Sean got his ass kicked by Dragon, I caught him in an outright lie over Chinese mythology, there hasn't been any serious fundie there(unless you count BB) .Dahak wrote:I came over from Spacebattles. At first, I wasn't sure if I liked it here.
But then I really started to like it here. More fun
And a refreshing lack of, well, fundies...

OP, I was from SB first. Created an account here approximately a month after the msg boards were formed, then didn't post as I entered the army. As for SB, I got sucked there when Slacker shifted our btech story debate from Utopia to SB.

No - there (and anywhere else), I'm Peregrin Toker - but here, I went for my actual name as I were afraid of being labeled a coward if I didn't use my real name.Falkenhayn wrote:Me too. You under the same name?Simon H.Johansen wrote:I'm from Portent.Net, which I rarely visit anylonger.

I don't know who locked this thread and placed it in the Testing Forum for deletion, but that is against board rules. This thread is not in any violation and the mod who did this did not leave their calling card behind. This thread is to remain open.
People, continue as you were.

This is my home, I just can't seem to get into the other message boards. I know the pulse and feel and the characters of this place and I guess I just don't have the patience to learn other boards characters and flavor.
Wherever you go, there you are.

I think I first was became aware of this site due to someone posting on AOL's B5 boards a couple of sites that dealt with weapons calcs. I kept the links for the places and eventually decided to come back here. I think I read through most of the site shortly before the regular message board went active. I joined a few weeks after that.

I went to Space Battles through a link on SD.N (before this message board), but I never got to be a regular poster over there. I didn't like the atmosphere. So, no, I didn't come here from SB, though I did know about it before this board started.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

I found SD.net before SB.
It was a link on a web-page that hosted a Space Empires 4 mod (what else could the mod be than a Star Wars mod? )
I have a SB account with 5 posts as Bill Door, and I check the forums infrequently.

For example, suppose I wrote a book that within 30 years of the moon landing millions of people could be duped by bad science and endless hectoring into believing that it didn't happen... nah, can't do that, too unbelievable for a fantasy novel, right?--Terry Pratchett, The new Discworld Companion
