Not really. Its more like saying its a small and inadequate recompense for a great kindness Mike did for me.Rob Wilson wrote:You're also an ego-maniac and doubtless did it for the noteriety, having employed your sith powers to forsee the Hall of Hero's and wanting a piece of the action.Connor MacLeod wrote:

Isn't it kinda difficult to donate to PayPal when you don't have a credit card?
Of course, I was still a high school student at the time, so what do you expect? Though I still don't have one.

I am extremely amused.
Also, I'm not entirely sure I qualify as a hero, given what the money I sent him went towards... but I like it all the same.
Out of curiosity, is that list in any specific order?

Oh, but if I donate now, I'll look like an attention-grubbing asshole!
Seriously, dude, I was going to donate some bones when you first put up the PayPal thing, but I was inbetween paychecks at the time, and by the time I got around to doing it, you had solved your server problems, and I figured you didn't need it as bad. So I probably spent the money on some expensive DVDs instead.
But now I have to not donate, just so that I don't look like a total me-too-er. I hope you're proud of yourself, Michael Wong!

And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

Anyway it would appear it was spanky's suggestion to make a list of contributors - whether Mike consciously remembered it.
Oh, and Cal wright said he donated $15 but isn't on the list.

Inside the US you can use a bank account, but outside the US it's Credit Cards only, as far as I know.Uraniun235 wrote: I don't think you need a credit card to use PayPal.

This is what I get for reading the board bottom to top (except for the announcements forum, of course)..Darth Wong wrote:Okay, okay, it's people who sent me money for one reason or another, not including the people who donated for registrations (and no, I don't know if Carol Hutchings is the same one who's been associated with Star Wars RPG material in the past; I didn't ask).
The low number of contributors is not that surprising, since the Paypal link was originally added because we were having horrible server problems and it looked like I would have to pony up a lot of cash for a bigger server, but then Lord MJ stepped in, and that crisis was averted (that's one of the reasons I never added the button to the main Empire site). Since then, its primary function is for people who want to register with Hotmail accounts.
I was planning to append more to that thread for other categories, but not until after I'd seen whether anybody could guess
