Well then have something where the Empire makes an appearence or do pre-empire stuff. And I personally do not like KJA, his books are annoying to me.phongn wrote:1. The Empire re-arming is a tired and dumb concept.Techno_Union wrote:True, who knows, mabye the Empire begins massive rearmament of their ships and launch an attack while the former NR does not expect it and this time the Empire actually wins.(one could only hope) But there is 25 thousand years of life in the SW galaxy, one good new idea should come from that. And a question, why does evrybody dislike KJA so much?
2. Because KJA sucks.

Star Wars books don't need to be on the "Grand Pan-Galactic War to End All Wars" scale. Hell, they don't even need to follow the Solos and the Skywalkers around. I would be interested in reading about an experimental Imperial battledroid going haywire, and the military's effort to get it under control, or maybe something about the individual peacekeeping exploits of the Jedi Knights. The only huge wars that need to be covered are the ones that have already happened. You can add more to the Great Sith War, Xim the Despot, the Mandalorians, the Clone Wars, the Galactic Civil War and the Yuuzhan Vong war. The Star Wars Galaxy deserves some large scale peace that lasts a long time. It just gets stupid when you have some rogue Moff threatening to rejuvinate the Empire or some uber advanced/violent alien race from another galaxy happening every day.

There's ESB Infinities, where Luke freezes to death on Hoth...His Divine Shadow wrote:Maybe some parallel universe stuff would of interest? Like a timeline in which the Empire won? There was already one in which Luke failed to destroy the first Death Star, how about one expands on a similar concept.
I want ROTJ Infinities, where Mara makes it aboard the Sand Barge, but doesn't necessarily kill Luke like TTT says. Imagine her being groped by Jabba, kept below deck just long enough for Luke to get his lightsabre, and there ends up being a Mara-as-a-dancing-girl vs. Luke lightsabre fight on the deck of the sail barge! Lando gets killed by the Sarlacc as Luke is distracted and can't help as much as in the OTL and Madine (who must take direct command with Han on the Falcon cuz Lando's dead, and botches the attack on the Shield Generator and talks some of the troops in the base--his former men, to rebel! Imps against Imps! Han dies with his ship in the Death Star II run.
TPM Infinities: The shield generator never gets taken out on the Royal Starship. Amidala rallies the Sectorial or Regional fleets to ambush the unprepared TF garrison....
AOTC Infinities: Bomb doesn't work, Amidala delivers speech, and Military Creation Act is defeated. Jango kills Zam for incompetence, Jango attempts to off Amidala on Coruscant--Anakin vs. Jango in the skylines of the Galactic City. Droid army from Geonosis invades Kamino when Count's political enemies discover clone army plans and decide that without a Military Creation Act, he's warmongering--they sieze control. Mace Windu vs. Darth Tyranus. You get the idea...
EU Infinities...
Sith War Infinites: Ulic Qel-Droma is killed, Exar Kun continues war...Malak and Revan make an appearance as fresh Jedi?
Jedi vs. Sith Infinities: Darth Bane kills idiot Sith Lord Kaan, wipes Brotherhood into shape, and abandons the absurd mano-e-mano fight without fire support by Jedi and Sith with mostly just melee weapons and a few heavier ones.
Bane abandons stupid rules and with a few of the highest Sith, distract the Jedi into a battle with the reject wannabe Sith Lords, and flank them to reach the main city, acquires spacecraft--they leave. Bane picks up a genuine war effort, and takes it all the way to Coruscant...
TTT/DE Infinities: GADM Thrawn doesn't try to reclaim galaxy--Palpatine invades without any prior Thrawn campiagn, and is initially successful but the undrained Republic stalls blitzkrieg outside of the Colonies.
Thrawn reuinted under Palpatine's banner--Chiss/Phalanx expeditionary forces probe and attack galactic fringes. Luke doesn't turn, but Mara seeks out Palpatine with this news.
Darksabre Infinities: Pelleaon sabotages Daala's mask in an uncharacteristic show of audacity. Seizing control, he doesn't waste the superior fleet of this time on stupid assaults like Daala, draining the Empire's remnants to where Pelleaon couldn't do shit. Pelleaon builds Empire stretching to Outer Rim--absorbs unaffiliated Sectors, Corporate Sector, etc. Unilateral cease fire with Republic and overall of political system....can the Republic win a cold war?

There is an ROTJ Infinities, IIRC. C-3P0 gets smacked by Jabba, his head goes rolling off and cannot translate for disguised-Leia. No deal, Leia activates Mr. Bomb. Luke never goes to Dagobah to hear Yoda's dying words, Han is whisked away by Fett in the chaos and Leia goes chasing Han.
Cue Battle of Endor.

Does that mean Leia gets killed by Fett, or she kills him? What's different about the Battle of Endor? Why didn't Luke go to Dagobah? What else is different?phongn wrote:There is an ROTJ Infinities, IIRC. C-3P0 gets smacked by Jabba, his head goes rolling off and cannot translate for disguised-Leia. I love the idea, I have the ANH infiniteies and the 1st RotJ and I love the way they play out. You are right though, your ideas are better and that would be awesome to make actual novels out of them. I like the Pellaeon idea.Illuminatus Primus wrote:There's ESB Infinities, where Luke freezes to death on Hoth...His Divine Shadow wrote:Maybe some parallel universe stuff would of interest? Luke dies at Hoth so Han takes Leia and friends to Dagobah assuming he'd be a Jedi or something, but Yoda trains Leia instead. Vader tracks them there and has an absolutely retarded fight with Yoda, which involves some Force shit with Qui-Gon and Windu, and a bunch of other bricka-brack that I can't remember and don't want to...

Weird. Though the 'Leia being trained as a Jedi' thing I can hardly fault, as I wanted that to happen in the EU (and I can't recall it actually happening either). When the fuck did Han feel he could be a Jedi? Or am I reading you wrong?Spanky The Dolphin wrote:Luke dies at Hoth so Han takes Leia and friends to Dagobah assuming he'd be a Jedi or something, but Yoda trains Leia instead. Han gor the message from Ben rather than Luke, so he assumed that he would be the one that would end up getting trained, and only took Leia along to be safe. Considering that Jedi were pretty much exstinct at the time, I wasn't surprised of his assumption.
But let me just reitterate that this comic was total bullshit and quite ugly, as a lot of American comics were and still are...
Luke did start training Leia as a Jedi in the EU around the time of Thrawn's Campaign, though.

Master Yoda apparently entered Lord Vader's mind and attempted to bring back Anakin Skywalker. It was almost certainly his only chance for survival.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:Luke dies at Hoth so Han takes Leia and friends to Dagobah assuming he'd be a Jedi or something, but Yoda trains Leia instead. My problem is the sheer almost insanity of leaps they take.
1. SW, leia goes DS...but for some reason this destroys the Alliance so utterly it's reduced to Luke and gang...and they alone topple the Empire?!
Literally.
2. ESB, The Empire whup ass, because of a funeral and well....it goes into Yoda unable to fend of Vader....for some reason they never made any clearer then we have to have redemption in 3 seconds.
3. This one I can already see where it's going...Luke will at the end find out about his father from Vader, and because he's in love with Leia kill the Emperor and himself in some poor fashion(maybe he'll plunge it into Endor)
All in all the Infinites aren't a What If? more like a What The?!
