Yea... I can strip out most email addresses with a one line sed script-
sed -e 's/^.*@.*$//g'<file or stream of comments
Phone numbers could be done w/ something similar- street addresses are hard though- note- I'm assuming everything is flat text, which is unlikely, which means database, which means even more unexcusable.
