Behold the New Hampshire Empire!

t looks like citizens of Killington, Vermont want to abandon one of the most high taxed states in the Union and join with the State of New Hampshire. Assuming the town approves the measure in march, I would welcome them as fellow brothers and sisters in NH.

Heh, I heard about this.

Shame they can't secede from their state without the permission of the state legislature. :)

Would they be a little enclave or would they be connected?

It doesn't seem like a major issue...

When you look at the history of this country in relation to issues of secession, you start cringing, mainly because this is an inter-state dispute, and as such privy to the whims of the Federal Government...

No! We want the people of Killington to join New Hampshire so they can enjoy the non-existant tax burden as loyal New Hampshirites. Although you can do what ever want in regards to those who are against this.

Here is the article in today's edition of the NH Union Leader with a map showing where Killington is.

What NH wants<<<<<<<<<What the federal government wants

And the federal government doesn't want all the hassle of having part of one state isnide another state.

If the people of Killington are really too greedy to pay for education, they can fucking move to New Hampshire.

Hell, a lot of us here in southern Indiana wonder if we'd be better off as part of Kentucky.

This end of the state gets ignored and our roads crumble while the legislature builds arenas for Indianapolis' sports teams. :x
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. I think most states have at least one money sponge when compared to the rest of the state.

Here in Arizona everyone always complains that all the money goes up to Phoenix & Maricopa County and doesn't get fairly distributed to the rest of the state.

Lots of people in New York compalin about all the money and resources going to NYC.

I mean it does sound like these people are getting boned and boned good so I wish them luck but I don't think what's happening to them is all that uncommon.
By the pricking of my thumb,
Something wicked this way comes.
