So I got this new and improved version of Kazaa. It's great and all, but why does it have to open up images in a web browser? Gah! I hate this! It's sooo much simpler just to have them pop up in the Theater -and worse, there's no way to disable this!

Or just tell Kazaa to sod off and use WinMX. You can search for every filetype. Even OOG! (another open source sound format, but offers superior compress/audio quality compared to MP3.)

I'll second WinMX (I'm using it right now ).
I've tried several different P2P programmes, and I keep coming back to WinMX. It's just so - perfect.

I don't know what it is that you guys download from file-sharing networks, but WinMX just doesn't have the amount of stuff that Kazaa has. And of course you should use Kazaa Lite instead of that annoying popup generator that is Kazaa Classic.
Another thing that I've heard of but never tried is eDonkey, supposedly it's good for divx movies and such.[/b]

yes, really. i base this information on the fact that a lot of people on a divx trading forum i go to swear by eDonkey instead of Kazaa Lite for some reason, usually the more fanatical movie collectors with huge collections. i haven't tried it because I'm happy with my access to a couple of good divx ftps and irc fservs.XaLEv wrote:Really....unigolyn wrote:Another thing that I've heard of but never tried is eDonkey, supposedly it's good for divx movies and such.[/b]

Strange; my experience has been the oposite. Of course, what you are looking for can also play a part in this.unigolyn wrote:I don't know what it is that you guys download from file-sharing networks, but WinMX just doesn't have the amount of stuff that Kazaa has.
