Bad news for Chrono Trigger Fans

CT WAS ONE OF THE BEST RPGS EVER MADE> I AM TYPING IN CAPS BECAUSE MY KEYBOARD ISN"T WORKING RIGHT
CC WAS ALSO A GOOD GAME BUT IT WASN"T UP THERE WITH CT IN MY OPINION I DIDN"T MIND THE OVERFLOW OF CHARACTERS AS THEY COULD LARGELY BE IGNORED BUT THE FACT THAT THERE WAS NEXT TO NO TIME TRAVEL PISSED ME OFF TO NO END I HAD ALWAYS HOPED THEY"D GIVE U A TIMEMACHINE IN CHRONO BREAK
"I want to mow down a bunch of motherfuckers with absurdly large weapons and relative impunity - preferably in and around a skyscraper. Then I want to fight a grim battle against the unlikely duo of the Terminator and Robocop. The last level should involve (but not be limited to) multiple robo-Hitlers and a gorillasaurus rex."--Uraniun235 on his ideal FPS game
"The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant compared to the power of the Force."--Darth Vader

*twitches at the caps* well, the story in chrono cross wouldn't have been the same if they'd had time travel. there was plenty to do as it is with just traveling between worlds. and it mainly didn't need all those characters because there was no real point. if anything they detracted from the storyline.

What all the people who bitch about the character number in Chrono Cross often fail to realize is that it is possible to complete the game with less characters then there are in FF VI if you are so inclined.
Anyways, to me it didn't matter. Chrono Cross expanded on the storyline of Chrono Trigger so well while containing a great little universe in itself was enough for me. Lynx was a radical depature of bad guys from your typical RPG (his motives weren't simply taking over the world or anything so cliched) and the story behind him, Kid and Serge was so epic and tied into Chrono Trigger so seamlessly that I was just swept away by it. From the first time Lynx called Serge "My assassin of time...my CHRONO TRIGGER!" I was hooked.
Granted it wasn't quite as great as Chrono Trigger (if only for the lack of truly great characters) but still better then 99.999% of anything out there. The only thing I wish we had closure on was:
*SPOILER*
I really wanted to know what exactly had happened to Chrono, Marle and Lucca after the fall of Guardia. We know that they no longer existed in Serge's timeline, but we didn't really find out what had happened or why FATE needed to eliminate them after the fact (especially considering that they contributed to its existance).
