ALternate sources of STGODing

Anyone know of any other forums in which one can find STGODs?

Spacebattles has it's Story Debates, which are similar, but also drastically different in how they go about it. ASVS itself still rattles along, I think, but that STGOD rather sucks at this moment.

The SB Story Debates are often much more regimented than their ASVS and SDN counterparts.

There's a community at The Frontier as well, and they're fairly "serious" about how they go about things.

What exactly do you define as "STGOD?" I might be able to help you, but I might not depending on what exactly you're looking for.

He's probably just asking for a Forum-based roleplaying game, but maybe not those with tightly regimented rules sets.

Pretty much what wwe have here.

I have some interesting Empire ideas I want to play with, such as an empire made of a cross between late 1800's england, Cold War america, and China Mieville's New Crobuzon.

Meh. I moderate at a forum dedicated to online roleplaying. We use a freeform system. Unfortunately, its a medieval fantasy setting. Try to put a Star Destroyer in your starting equipment, and the character approval group will freak. :P If anyone's still interested, PM me and I'll give you a link. I will not put one up on the board. If the TK goons are still crawling around here I don't want to lead them there.

Ours are always up. We do have an Others forum for RPing in other genres, but its not the main focus of the site. And characters aren't regulated for use in there the way they are for use in the main RP areas. Since all the STGOD stuff takes place in one forum here anyway, you could probably use our space. We've got a good webmaster. I've never known the boards to be down.

Some of SB's Story Debates (in particular, The Great Game) tend to be grand strategy. The stuff on The Frontier is that way as well.

Just go around to spacebattles' SD forum and you can probably find something. They tend to have a lot of games running at any given time, so they have a lot more variety (and more "theme" games) and it's easier to get one started. But many SDs have a tendency to burn out quickly and often.

I'm not sure, but I think you may still be able to join the Great Game SD. It's still very early in the play.

It's too bad IDMR isn't around, it would have been great to see the interactions between the Celstial Imperium and your power :D

(Even more fun would be the reaction of those powers if an STGOD warship popped in :D)

Naturally the Emperor of the Song is the only just and true bearer of the mandate of heaven and the only acceptable ruler of Chinese people. The swine which calls itself Shi Huang-Di is a murderer of scholars, enemy of progress, tyrant, and shaved monkey.
