If succession was a legal right, don't you think there'd be legitimate mechanisms so as to seperate it from rebellion, for which the Federal Government can even suspend habeas corpus over?

What they claim is that the States themselves, being technically sovereign under our Federal System, have the right to leave the Union whenever they choose, if the people decide it is so.
