How about you suggesting the Framers were so fucking stupid they'd set up a system which "allowed" succession indestinguishable from rebellion as covered by the Constitution, or you don't know what you're talking about.

If succession was a legal right, don't you think there'd be legitimate mechanisms so as to seperate it from rebellion, for which the Federal Government can even suspend habeas corpus over?

Man, I should have stuck with this thread. So, if secession is a right, I could write up a declaration and proclaim that my dorm room is now a Rogue state? ( :P ) Cool! Press conference tomorrow at 8 pm, Tennessee Room in the student center. :roll:

Not secession like that. What they claim is that the States themselves, being technically sovereign under our Federal System, have the right to leave the Union whenever they choose, if the people decide it is so. One of the main reasons that Chief Justice Salmon Chase advised against the charging of Jefferson Davis for treason...
