How ? They call their leader a prophet when it has explicitly been stated in the Holy Quran that Hazrat Mohammed (SM) is the last prophet. This is a blashphemy of high nature. And many of their teachings run contrary to Islam. They are no different from the Ahmedia sect who has already been declared non muslim in Pakistan. Infact they are worse.

So what? They wouldn't be the first sect to commit what the mainstream sects would call heresy/blasphemy. The fact is they subcribed to some version of Islam, that makes them Muslim.

They are not accepted as muslims by the muslims for very good reasons. Nation of Islam claimed their leader as a prophet and that makes them non muslim. Their claim violates one of the five main pillars of Islam and is one of the worst possible forms of blasphemy. It is specificaly stated that not accepting Muhammad (SM) as the last Prophet makes one a non muslim.

That doesn't make the Nation of Islam stop being Muslim. Sects always declare every interpretation of their religion but their own to be wrong. They probably don't follow the Quran perfectly, but they're no different than any other religious sect in that.
