ISD slower than Republic Assault Ship!? What genius thought that up? Since when is a destroyer slower than a gator freighter!?

The guy did zero research. Best in universe explanation I can come up with is "Its a civillian guide, and like in the real world a lot of information about the warships is confidential, so you get falsly low numbers"

Then what would you advise to by instead of NEGVV? Starships of the Galaxy from Wizards?

Depends on what you are looking for. The Starships of the Galaxy is good if you play the RPG and also it is good for additional stats on some SW ships ranging from starfighters to capital and to stations. NEGVV is IMO not worth the money, it is only good because you can see the ships in color and other then that there is nothing really. I would stick with the original essential guides(I own all of them and I am happy with them).
So it just depends on what you are looking for. But if possible, look through the book before you buy it.
