Some of the forums (Movies & TV and Music, Religion and Philosophy, Current Events and Politics) could easily be combined to reduce clutter on the main page, in my opinion. I say start with a few and create new forums when there's a high enough demand for one (Like when Fantasy split from Other Sci-Fi, Gaming and Politics split from OT, PST split from SW vs. ST, etc.)

I'd say Movies & TV, Music, and Video Games go into a broad "Entertainment" section.. maybe even include Sports in there.
