I respect the Israeli ambassador's opinion, but his outburst is unforgivible. The fact that Sharon condoned and praised it reflects poorly on Israel as whole. Whoever said Israel hasn't got the goodwill to burn, amen! No, Israel's fears aren't "just paranoia," but they have to be rational in how they convey them.

Shep's inability to form more than one opinion on art aside ... does anyone else find it particularly delicious that by his actions, the Israeli ambassador has actually encouraged the propagation of this art to the masses?

Indeed he has made sure that it now has a global audience rather than just the Stockholm art lovers.

It's not suprising. The best way to get people interesting in a piece of art, or novel, or whatever is to try and ban it. That's the only reason why today anyone has heard of "Catcher in the Rye".

Just a update.

The debate about that is dead here to. The diplomat got called up to the foreign department hash word where said and now everyone prefers to forget the entire ruckus.

The Israeli will be in the conference about genocide, our politicians get the warm fussy feeling you get when you talk a lot but do nothing.
