Over a million starfighters? Wow.

I believe there are guns explicitly referred to as TLs in the ICS.

I bet the million droid starfighters alone would give the Federation major problems. They could probably destroy Starfleet in its entirety, seeing as they are shielded and probably have kiloton-ranged weapons. NTM someone else on this thread stated they carry proton torpedoes as well.

I also forgot that droid starfighters could also be deployed as ground units by using their wings as legs. That would certainly be useful on Earth.

That's true, however I was making a point that the Trade Federation would probably not even have to deploy its heavy tanks, droidekas, battle droids, STAPs, etc. since the starfighters could dominate the space around Earth, the airspace on Earth, and double as ground units to keep the populace in line. But I am not foolish enough to believe this is what the Trade Federation should do. If it were up to me, I'd deploy a relatively small amount of every type of ground unit and starfighters in the fleet's arsenal around the most populated areas on Earth and keep the rest in orbit for reserve forces should some sort of uprising, or should I say miracle, occurs.

Oh, I thought you meant completly use starfighters for the army. But I see what you are saying now. With 4 million tanks you could deploy all of them and leave a small fleet in orbit. Doubtful that something would happen to the large number of troops and tanks on the surface, but never to safe then sorry.

I'd leave most of the ground forces in orbit since the population wouldn't be able to resist, and let's say some sort of weird miracle happens and the ground forces get wiped out? Nothing in reserve...

I might also add that Earth's populace would be denied information of how many ground units the Trade Federation has if there were many more reserve units in orbit.

Hmm...why would there be Fed troops if the Trade Federation is occupying the planet? I'd assume they would all be dead or POWs after the war was over.

What I was meaning was how many Fed "troops"(security or what not) would there be on Earth prior to the invasion. In other words, on a normal day how many are there?IRG CommandoJoe wrote:Hmm...why would there be Fed troops if the Trade Federation is occupying the planet? Probably next to nothing, since Earth is a pacified place.

And the security force would be even less armed and probably less competant than the NRSF.

Re: The Trade Federation vs The United Federation of Planets
This is another one of those "Star Wars power X defeats Star Trek power Y like they weren't even trying . . . NEXT!" topics. The TF can deploy massive armies of droids and they have ships with SW level weapons and power levels. The UFP gets owned quite badly.Techno_Union wrote:Ok, the UFP for some reason has their entire fleet at Earth or in the solar system. The Trade Federation has been flung into the Milky Way Galaxy and now wants to invade Earth. The Trade has all their ships (if anybody knows the exact number of their whole fleet then please say it, if not then go with the globe encircling fleet at Naboo). They come right out of hyperspace and with their shields up and the UFP's shields are up as well. And then...???
Will the Trade destroy the UFP fleet, invade Earth, and enslave the population? Or will the UFP destroy the Trade ships and take great losses? Please use as much cannon evidence to back up your answers.
And I searched and did not find this type of topic anywhere in this forum. If it is here I am sorry.

Then what would be an equal battle still consisting of the Trade Federation and the UFP?GrandMasterTerwynn wrote:This is another one of those "Star Wars power X defeats Star Trek power Y like they weren't even trying . . . Defiants vs Droid fighters might be fair.Techno_Union wrote:Then what would be an equal battle still consisting of the Trade Federation and the UFP?GrandMasterTerwynn wrote:This is another one of those "Star Wars power X defeats Star Trek power Y like they weren't even trying . . .
