Using Mouse as Joystick

Post by Bob McDob »

While I know there are ways to fool Windows into thinking your joystick is a mouse, are there any ways to do the opposite? (i.e, use your mouse as a joystick when your old one craps out and you want to play SWON but can't because it's JOYSTICK ONLY  )

Don't you know that, over here lad, they like it best like this!
Hooray, pour les français! Farewell, Angleterre!
We didn't know how to tickle Mary, but we learnt how, over there!

If you feel up to doing a real old-tyme hack job, you could get an old serial mouse, figure out the pinouts on it (and how to make it comply to the joystick standard), and wire it up to the joystick port.

Yes it can be done but I am not aware of an easy way to do it. You would have to write a hook DLL that translates mouse inputs into joystick inputs.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.
