Apparently my hobbit-parents are divorced. :?
It looks like we might be closely related. :) Either that or gay and married to each other (the hyphenated name)

Podo Gamgee-Took of Bywater

Plus, based on the names we're related to most of the Hobbits in the Fellowship, although some of the relationships would be in the very lengthy convoluted Hobbit style.
:)

My Elf name: Eärendur Telrúnya which also makes it look our elven selves are also related. :?

By the way, if you want to know what your name really is in Elvish, check to see if it's listed here:
http://www.uib.no/People/hnohf/elfnam.htm

The list is somewhat limited, so it doesn't have everything. But if your name is common enough, it might be there.

Interesting site Spanky. Even though my name isn't on there I found the entemology of a lot of the names interesting. It was odd to see that so many names are really really religous in origin
JOHN, IVAN: The English and the Russian form of the Greek name Ioannes, from Hebrew Yochanan = "Yo (Yahweh, Jehovah) Is Gracious"

NATHALIE: From Latin (Dies) Natalis "natal (day)". This name was given to girls born on Christmas day, the presumed birthday of Jesus. Quenya Nosta means "birth, birthday" (LT1:272).

I would never have connected Nathalie to religion.

Now I would think most people around here would want the Elven name: Rimbecáno

Yeah, the whole site is actually pretty cool, covering pretty much all of Tolkien's languages:

Dorsk and Evilcat got the same results. Also, I get the same results using my real name and my LARP character's name.

Going by the links Spanky posted, Corintur Antolba is the best translation I could find. Corintur means ruler of a keep, and Antolba is a contraction of mouth and branch (the closest match I could find to 'stick'). The last name is almost certainly a mistranslation, since I used its meaning in High German when it was originally a Low German name.
I prepared Explosive Runes today.
