Next wave of reality shows?

Post by justifier »

So once the current wave of dating/marriage shows have run their course what do you think nexts will start turning into reality shows? Talent shows, english versions of MXC, etc? I'm putting my money on "ethnic" reality, and that the first one will probably be picked up by FOX. I can't wait to not be watching 'American Rapper'

I've not watched a reality show ... ever, nor do I intend to, unless you count televised sports as reality shows...

MXC isn't reality TV for the simple reason that it's bearable to watch and even funny at times.

It doesn't matter if you don't watch reality shows I just am really curious as to what will happen next since reality shows seem to have finally, really run out of ideas with "My Big Fat Obnoxious Fience"

I'd love to something like "COPS" but instead of police, a camera man follows a group of soldiers or what have you.

How about a crack team of reporters does their own hunt for Osama Bin-Ladin? That'll be sure to end this reality TV shit real quick...

.. on second thought, maybe not. Just how much blood can they show on TV, anyway?

I like the one where they select one random family and give them one week to plan and carry out the assassination of a political or sports celebrity using only common household objects.

Joe Bomb Squad also promises to be amusing.

The simple life was funny at times but otherwise awful, I'd like to see them stick those girls in mexico or something. My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance was rightly flamed by Mad TV tonight. I watch the American Idol show cause I like seeing the awful people who really think they have a chance get their dreams shatter. Yes I am a horrible person. I've been meaning to catch the Surreal Life.

Really I can't wait til the Reality Show thing goes the way of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, so that networks start to do shows with long runs and plots, not just one time rating orgasism followed by lackluster sequal.

I made a list a while back of the new wave of reality shows on FOX but here's a couple off the top of my head, Venerial Island and Celebreity Autopsy.

And here I am silently hoping that there will be no more "reality tv".....except for Mythbusters. Those guys are hilarious and its *gasp* actually entertaining. :)

That's already happened, or was your TV broken last March and April?

Fuck yeah! How good was that movie? Especially that electro dude who looked like a walking christmas tree. I thought he was pretty cool when I was a kid. Jesus, I haven't watched that movie in a while.

I want a "Survivor: Japanese Gameshow." Super-fun Action Hour! What about Celebrity Stalker? Tune in and watch these beautiful people who make more money than you live in constant terror, as the stalker starts leaving notes about taking their dogs for walks. Think about it... or don't.

Seriously, what is with the crappy TV lately? Everything seems to be a gimmick, and nothing seems to last that long.

How about instead of certified reporters, you have a bunch of D-List celebrities going after bin Laden? There seem to be a lot of reality TV shows with people that haven't had a paying acting gig in 5 years.

I was thinking that you put a bunch of people on an island rigged with hidden cameras, and have them hunted down and "shot" with some non-lethal object like a paintball, and the last one standing wins a million dollars or something. Even if nobody dies, I'd watch that, or at worst, it would be better than all of the other reality TV shows.

I don't know if this counts, but Reno911, baby!

For actual reality TV, I've watched American Idol, mainly the beginning episodes, to laugh at the people who think they can sing but can't. Also, I've watched The Real World, I know it's sad, but I'm a teenager and I'm allowed. :P
