Overclocking my GF4mx

Post by Hamel »

Ok, I was curious about about my video card and stuff~ So I actually looked at the card itself and saw that it was an Abit Siluro GF4mx 440

So I go to their website and they have an overclocking utility there, so I download it

So, the defaults for the GPU and RAM, respectively, are

270mhz, 400mhz

Max is, respectively:

337mhz, 484mhz

I'm wondering how much I can safely overclock this shitbrick of a card without damaging it :x
"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

Well you aren't in much danger of physically damaging the card unless you do a voltage mod, so just step up the clock frequency in 5 MHz increments until the PC crashes. Then move it down to the last stable speed and start looping 3dMark 2001 SE until you are satisfied the card is stable. If it isn't, take the card down more. Try to do core and memory seperately so you can isolate them.
