Ok the other thread got me thinking again.
Background: I was depressed while I was in JHS and I didn't have a great outlook in life but I soon got over it as a friend help me through and out of it which I am very grateful.
Now it's been a couple years and I haven't said thanks yet and I want to. Just that due to the duration I feel I owe her much more now than just a simple thanks.
Thus, I need suggestions on what I should do or give her as an appreciation of what she had done for me. I'm not really sure what to give her as I am a dimmed lightbulb in these situations.
Edit: Forgot to mention that I am in HS, so I have a tight budget to stick with too.
Thanks,
Jason

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Well do you know what she likes in any regards to stuff?
I mean could also just take her out to dinner just as a thank you as well.

You know what she might appreciate, not a physical gift. But something more intangible.
All the things you could not offer her while being depressed, like being a good listener or putting her interests first, try and work on that.
Might sound silly, I know. But lets say she is very busy with school/work/family or something. Find some way to help her. Wash her car, pick up her dry cleaning, mow the lawn, etc.

Well I can help her along in the Salvation army.
I haven't hanged around with her in a long time as I've "lost" contact with her ever since I switched middle school and just recently got it back in HS so that's pretty much all I know currently.
We don't actually hang out with one another still as I kind of stifled it a couple months ago due to me being sort of socially inept(-_-) at that time but I'll come around.
Cyaround,
Jason

Once I get it all back together, I'll make sure to do that also. ThanksAll the things you could not offer her while being depressed, like being a good listener or putting her interests first, try and work on that.

I second the hug. This is only me speaking, but I appreciate heartfelt hugs from friends a lot more than random presents.
