I put the file into the 'font' folder, but it won't show up in Word or Notepad under my font list.

You should just be able to drop a font into \WINDOWS\FONTS and make it work. It that doesn't, do this: Extract the truetype file somewhere other than the font directory (\temp or whatever will work). Then go into your Font directory and in the File menu there should be an option to install a new font. Use that tool.

Does it have a .TTF extension? Does it show in the Fonts folder as a proper descriptive name instead of a short filename?

phogn, I am not following you. Ok, so I just click on my font folder, and install it somewhere that way? Sorry, I'm not real informed here.
