There were some cheesy lines but overall I thought the show was ok. One thing I didn't agree with was the decision to make "metahumans" one of the rules of the show, something that we just accept as part of its premise. Both Huntress and Dinah are metahumans without explanation, and the show implied that metahuman criminals were pretty common (mind control guy, the water guy in next week's preview, and Oracle's line about her database of metahuman criminals). Smallville's already doing the mutant freak the week thing. I really hope they use a few Batman villains, since he's got the most famous rogue's gallery of any comic hero.

Also, did anyone else find it odd that Catwoman was able to keep her teenaged daughter a secret from Batman, although Barbara and Alfred knew about her?

You know what would be a really cruel tye-in don't you?

If they got some really hot Latin Actor to play Talia's kid from Son of the Demon, all Grown Up......

The Girls could fight over him, he could secretly be working for his Grandpa, AND THEN they could find out about Bruce's OTHER love child....

I think she used the same service that Talia used to keep her son secret from him.

God, that's 0-2 Bruce.

I'm sometimes quite happy that Son of the Bat thing was retconned out of existence... not really that great an idea all things considered.
But then keeping Talia's child a secret is actually believable since Ra's Al Ghul has all the secret resources of his huge network to devote to keeping the child put of the proverbial spotlight.

Was red krypto the one that permanently stripped him of powers, or the one that made his powers go wacko?

BTW what's this Birds of Prey everybody's talking about? I hadn't heard anything about it until this thread... I thought it was a Star Trek reference.

Green kryptonite is the bad one.

I think it is Gold Kryptonite that used to take his powers away.

Actually the Huntress as the daughter of Catwoman, was removed from continuity back in Crisis on infinate earths. The current Huntress is a mafia princess. Brotherhood of the Bat (Limited Series) had the alternate timeline return of the Talia's kid.

That was green. Richard Pryor left out an ingredient and it made Supes evil instead of killing him.

Kelly Antilles wrote:Oh, anyone else notice the little plug for WBs other DC show?

They were talking to Dinah about her abilities and how they manifest. Huntress goes something along the lines of, "Yeah, we hear meteor showers are popular."
Yeah, I heard that. It gave me a chuckle. :)

Overall, I liked the show, and didn't mind the minor changes. There's no reason it has to stick to the comic continuity (Smallville doesn't, after all. Red Kryptonite, anyone? Lex Luthor living in Smalville? Lana a brunette instead of a redhead? Pete Ross black instead of white with blonde hair? etc.)

And look at Dr. Hamilton. He's a black guy instead of a old white guy.

Plus, wasn't Hamilton a good guy in the comics? He's a bad guy in the show (well, was.)

Green Kryptonite - lethal to kryptonians after some moments. Not instantly lethal but really, really painful in an incapacitating way.

Gold Kryptonite - permanently removes a Kryptonians super powers. Does not exist in current continuity as such.

Red - two versions of Red K have so far been seen in current continuity; the first was made by Mxypylztk the 5D Imp. It removed Superman's powers.
Batman recently synthesised a lump of Kryptonite which turned out red - instead of killing Superman it made it so solar energy went straight into Superman's internal organs - and while that made Superman incredibly powerful it did it in a way which was both very painful and meant a lack of control over his powers.

In Pre-Crisis continuity Red K generally made Superman experience some weird effects ... like his head enlarging or turning into a monkey or a giant ant ... really, really bizarre and best forgotten things like that.

He's a Devious Bastard (tm) - that's what he is...

Of course, it did kinda suck to be him when his own Anti-JLA plans were stolen by Ra's Al Ghul and used.
Then again, some of the plans really were pathetic. Best example would be the one for Kyle Rayner aka Shmuck Lantern. The plan to take him out? Break into his apartment while he's sleeping, slip his Power Ring onto his finger and give him subliminal messages telling him he's blind.
Helloooo? You're standing over a defenceless sleeping guy who keeps the source of his power on his bed side table at night - *you could smother him with a friggin' pillow* ... gaah...

Or shoot him in the head with a handgun equipped with a silencer.

Do any Green Lanterns still have any powers if they don't have their rings on? I know that Jon Stewart's eyes glow green even when he doesn't have the ring on because he was a GL for so long, at least I'm pretty sure.

Not to my knowledge, unless you count Alan Scott.

Jade (Alan Scott's daughter) has a power ring and her own green energy powers.
