The car of your dreams.

Post by Tolya »

An american musclecar? Italian sportscar? Japanese roadwarrior? Or simply just a good reliable sedan or SUV to drive around?

1956 Packard Carribbean convertible. In maroon and cream.

I saw that car at a car show once and fell in love with it.

It has tracks = not a car.

If it goes forwards at three speeds (slow, medium, fast), turns corners (left or right, not bothered), stops, and has at least 3 wheels, its good enough for me.

Did anybody ever see the TV show Viper? The one about a red, and later, blue Dodge viper called the "Defender"; with holographic projectors (on par with Bond adaptive camo), EMP guns, machine guns, flamethrowers, grappeling hooks, missiles, bulletproof (and apparently regenerative) armor, changes from red/blue to silver armor, thermal imaging n more stuff? That would definitely be nice to drive.

Another I'd really like is the Die Another Day Aston Martin Vanquish, with auto-tracking flak guns (can be fired manually), rocket packs, adaptive camo, traction, remote control, ejector seats, etc.

As for real cars, possibly the US Military-modified Ford Explorer (black w/ tinted windows, for all you paranoids out there), the one with the microwave-pain-gun on top and bulletproof armor in the body and windows.

My dream car is one that hasn't been built yet. It possibly may never be built.

While I'm tempted to agree here, I like the older ones better. '57 Shelby Mustang, red, white leather interior.

I guess a runner-up would be a candy-apple red 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz. The one with the big honkin' tailfins.

And for the record, Saturn came out with a cool concept (I think it was a concept) in Detroit this year: glass panelling all around the side of the car for nearly 360 degrees of unhampered visibility.

And keep an eye out for the Saab 9x. It's gonna be friggin' sweet.

Oh, and I almost forgot. For a practical car, I'd go with the Volkswagen Passat, W8 engine (a marvel of engineering), all the trimmings (like the 3-setting adjustable suspension, permanant AWD, kickass stereo, etc.)

Though the moded z3 in my garage is just fine for now. ;)

Hmmm, cars don't really impress me -- they're just forms of transportation. But here is the two-wheeled vehicle of my dreams:

My dad's Lexus. Fast, comfy, elegant in an understated way, and it has that nice leather smell. I'm sure there's much better cars out there but for my everyday practical use it's hard to beat.

For now anything that runs and could get me the through the four miles of Wisconsin winter to my best friend's house would be a dream come true.

Ideally, I guess I would like a Dodge Viper.

One important criterion of my dream car is "back seat large enough to hold an orgy." :P
