Bill: "I carry a handgun all the time."
Jim: "Why?"
Bill: "I live in a really bad part of town, and without my gun, I just don't feel safe."
Jim: "Why don't you move?"
Problem is that most people who live in the 'bad' parts of town don't do so by choice, but out of economic necessity. In fact, I'd go as far to say that if you live in a high crime area by choice, you're either a criminal or insane. :D
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."- General Sir Charles Napier

I know more then one person who has the signs and stickers on their house for a security system they don't have. :)
Many security systems companies will often give those to people even if they don't buy the security system.

It's actually a very stupid idea to have such an inflamatory bumper sticker. Assuming the person with the sticker carries a gun, and actually has to use it in defense of his life, or his family's, a DA could paint the picture of a derranged vigilante, itiching to kill someone.

Same principle goes if you shoot pictures of liberal politicians at the gun range, and tape them up at home. You'll be branded a nut.

Of course, it's much different to have a sticker that states your affiliation with a Pro-gun group, such as the NRA, or the group I belong to, Gun Owners of America. In fact, when I visited Santa Cruz, I noticed the ratio of cars with Dennis Kuchinich stickers seemed about equal to my town's ration of NRA stickers.

On the subject of comparing crime rates between the U.S. and other countries, does anyone take into account the population differences between the two? :?:

Yes. That's why it's called a "rate."

I thought there was a NRA bumper sticker saying something like "The owner of this car is willing to protect his property"?
"Hi there, would you like to have a cookie?"

"No, actually I would HATE to have a cookie, you vapid waste of inedible flesh!"

Could be, but the NRA sticker I'm refering to only has there logo.

Of course, the bumper sticker you mentioned doesn't sound too bad. I mean, I've seen some really weird ones, like, "Nobody every raped a .44 magnum." I agree with the principle, but man...It's almost like you're trying to incite people.

Unfortunately no, my isolated mountain cabin has little other means of entertaining me. Oh well, time to read the Turner Diaries again.

Someone notify Mike that Shep's account has been hacked.

What can I say MK, the men in my family were born without penises. Lubing up all those long, hard, steel barrels is how i compensate.
