New Brand of Coca-Cola comming out!
It will have 12 grams of sodium, and 45 calories. It will be introduced in the Super Bowl, and it will be called Coca-Cola ultra.
My sources you ask? Well, I have spies all over the place and this is what they tell me now.
You heard it here first.

is it going to be anything different than regular coke? some type of new twist ala vanilla coke? without flavor descriptions the name doesn't really mean jack. unless of course you mean new coca cola bottle, rather than the drink itself. . . .

It will have a slightly different look, and bottle, don't know about the taste though...

You liked new coke, somebody get a doctor Chardok is not right, and new coke tasted like freaking root beer.Chardok wrote:Remember the disaster that was "New Coke"?
(I rather liked "New Coke" however.) Some of you young 'uns will NOT remember new coke. Perhaps you always wondered why it was called "Coca-Cola Classic"? instead of just Coca-Cola? It used to be just that

Ah, yeah, I remember "New Coke". Didn't it not have that much of a taste difference? Just a marketing tool to get people to try it.Chardok wrote:Remember the disaster that was "New Coke"?

Well, they make decaffed diet coke. It can't get any worse (Though Vanilla Coke is a runner-up)

As long as the keep the current main Coke out, I don't care what else there is.

Diet soda is superior to all other forms of soda through virtue of it not being a sugary mess. Though caffiene-free sucks AND blows.

It was okay. Somewhere between Pepsi and Old Coke.Chardok wrote:Remember the disaster that was "New Coke"?

For quite awhile you could get both types. There were cans labeled "Coke" and the others labeled "Coca~Cola Classic". I think inspite of the "disaster" Coke had a big upswing in sales. I know my friends and I drank a lot more coke classic after the attempted switcheroo.
Speaking of old timer stuff. Is Pepsi Free still around? I seem to remember that coming out in various assortments during the 80s as well.
Does anyone remember Pepsi Clear. It was supposed to be Pepsi without the caramel food coloring. If that's the case the food coloring kills a rather nasty chemcial aftertaste. I'm betting that one was a killer as well since they forked out a bunch of money for a Van Halen song ("Right Now") for the commercials.
As for new stuff. Diet Cafeine Free Coke is pretty good. It is somewhere between Coke and Diet Coke in taste (which sort of baffles me).
The same for Diet Cafeine Free Dr. Pepper. Not as good as regular but better than the straight diet.
I've recently been seeing Coke and Diet Coke with lime in it. Gah, I don't think so.

I would guess that was the case. I think it was different but I don't think the stuff that it replaced really tasted like coca~cola classic either. They'd been fudging around with the formula for awhile is my guess.Nathan F wrote: Ah, yeah, I remember "New Coke". Didn't it not have that much of a taste difference? All this talk about New Coke makes me want to try one again. Time for a revival.

Man, Pepsi clear was all the rage when I was in High school. That and the "new" Gun Cinnaburst, where the prevailing rumor was you didn't have to unwrap it, you just popped in your mouth, and chewed away. So, when I get to school, I'd have a pepsi clear in the morning, pop a piece of cinnaburst, made sure my jeans were good and tightrolled, and went to homeroom to watch the new show "Channel One". When I got Home I listened to my Aerosmith "Get a Grip" CD and "I hate everything about you" by Ugly Kid Joe, and "I'll never get over you (Getting Over Me)" By Expose' on the radio. Then I played Street Fighter II on my SNES until 1 or 2, rinse and repeat. Good times.

Though for me New Coke tasted like they just added much more sugar rather then anything else...which destroys most of the bite of Coke and the reason I drink it.

It was Crystal Pepsi, which inspired an SNL commercial for Crystal Gravy, which was people pouring what appeared to be glycerin on mashed potatos and scarfing them down with delight.
If Religion and Politics were characters on a soap opera, Religion would be the one that goes insane with jealousy over Politics' intimate relationship with Reality, and secretly murder Politics in the night, skin the corpse, and run around its apartment wearing the skin like a cape shouting "My votes now! All votes for me! Wheeee!" -- Lagmonster
