How bout this for expressing your dislike for someone: if he died, I wouldn't shed a tear.

I really don't have a problem with that, mostly because you can dislike a guy to the point of feeling no sorrow for him, yet still not wish for his death so you can futher your goals.

As far as I'm concerned, it's no more or less repugnant than all the people who were saying quasi-facetiously that they'd wish the Army would take out anti-war protesters. Which I notice you've never made a peep about. If you aren't willing to jump down peoples throats over joking about the massacre of possibly thousands of people because they don't like them politically, how can you have a straight face now when you ride Aly's ass about this?

I don't care that he disagrees with Scalia. My problem is that he wishes Scalia to die. I'm so sick and fucking tired of people spouting off with that kind of crap, from all sides. Just the other day I was with a group out to dinner and an asshole in the group piped up about how "If we're lucky, some Secret Service agent will shoot Bush in the back of the head if he's re-elected." People constantly make jokes about Bush choking to death on a pretzel. Many on the right say the same things about prominant librals. Do these people honestly want that?

Note the emphasis. I admit that people on the Right do the same thing, and I think it's wrong. However, please point out where on this board people have said that the army should be used to kill anti-war protesters. I don't read every single thread you know.
