It seems like not all the bullets activate the thing. So it still is random. Just based on whether it's a live round or not.Comosicus wrote:Russian roullette with a magazine-fed gun (not a revolver)

That's sometimes known as Polish Roulette. As for this thing, I don't see a cylinder to spin, so it can't possibly be fun.Comosicus wrote:Russian roullette with a magazine-fed gun (not a revolver)

Gun Safety Training
2000 Darwin Award Runner-Up
Confirmed True by Darwin
(28 February 2000, Texas) A Houston man earned a succinct lesson in gun safety when he played Russian roulette with a .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol. Rashaad, nineteen, was visiting friends when he announced his intention to play the deadly game. He apparently did not realize that a semiautomatic pistol, unlike a revolver, automatically inserts a cartridge into the firing chamber when the gun is cocked. His chance of winning a round of Russian roulette was zero, as he quickly discovered.

I find that child kind of creepy. Like he could pull out a knife and gut me just for the pleasure of it.
Also, what is this about Hitler selling air-conditioners?

I'm guessing there's something in there to have it release randomly.

Several years ago, a Taiwanese air conditioning manufacturer used images of Hitler in some of its print ads, which rose many complaints from international Jewish groups until the company withdrew them.
But that's partially because there are a lot of people in Taiwan that think Hitler is someone to admire as a leader.
I'm not 100% sure it was Taiwan, but I know that it sure wasn't Japan.

It was Taiwan. Cartoon Hitler was the mascot for a line of air conditioners. It was pulled after a short while though.Gandalf wrote:I find that child kind of creepy. Like he could pull out a knife and gut me just for the pleasure of it.

The catch phrase was something about Hitler declaring war on the Cold Front.

Yeah, that was it.
Another company (either Taiwanese or European) also had a print ad explaining how their product could turn a Frowning Führer into a Chearful Chaplain (according to Time).

Japan doesn't have a gun culture, so there's very little chance of some kid picking up a real pistol and ventilating his braincase after seeing one of these on TV or in a toy store or something.
Still, it strikes me as a stupid idea.
