SC Maps

Post by darthdavid »

What's your favorite sc map? Have you made anygood ones yourself?
I personally like the fastest possible series of maps and in their spirit i myself have made a stacked min map. It's an island map set in the desert. Now you might be wondering how i did that right? Well just DL and look at the name and if that doesn't give it away then you'll just have to play it.
No FTP so just RCSA to get it (make sure you do all files .scx)

You will burn, money mapper :)

Lost Temple is my favorite, although for 'ffgheys' (non-serious ffas with my ~nohutners friends) we use a custom map known as 'Shifting Sands', or 'Shitting Sands' depending on which version you use ;)

Me and regular Starcraft play has an on/off relationship(better than WCIII, I won't touch it), but in UMS's I pwn at madnesses. A couple of times I almost beat someone that rigged the map.

Do people still play Star Craft ? I used to play it a lot when I was young. Subsquently I lost the CD and never played Star Craft again.

BTW what is your favorite Star Craft race ? Mine is the Protoss.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

Terrans. Just because they are, IMO the least likeable on the whole. :D

Right now I'm working on a Battlestar Galactica UMS and I made my own map. Naturally it's a space map, and it has little islands everywhere with beacons. I'm nearly finished, all I have to do is tweak units a tad.

I prefer Warcraft 3, and my favorite map on that would have to be this perfect replica of Helm's Deep that I played on battle.net when I was first starting out on multiplayer. :D

I'm a fan of that siege tank UMS map whose proper name escapes me, and BGH ffas, just because they're always massive clusterfucks, and I find those hilariously entertaining. If it's just me and my pals, we'll do 2v5 or 3v5 comps

Do you mean tank wars where every couple tanks you kill you get another tank and then eventually you get superpowered vultures at like every 40 tanks and then at like every 60 or sumptin you get an uber siege tank that kils a regular siege tank in 1 hit and has like 4 times as much health?

Tank wars sounds right, but the version I played, you got one point per kill. 2 points bought you a siege tank, 3 points bought you something else, and so on, all the way up to 20, which was the ultra tank.

The attacks came in twenty waves, and by wave 18 it was ultra hard. Oh, and you could spent the points you accrued to upgrade your tanks, if you wanted.

Same idea different map. The version i played was all human and you had to kill each other's tanks.

My favourite proper maps are WCG Lost Temple and Gaema Gowon (a pro map). My favourite UMSes are Zergling Blood and World War II. I don't play money maps.

I have a(nother) question about triggers. How can I make a unit travel from one location to another? Not teleport there magically, but physically move.

Rich man land

Large map, But FILLED(So much so you only had enough room for maybe one building) with Crystals

Meaning you had to harvest your way to fight your enemy on the ground and harvest to clear room for your base, Sure you had to mine a way to victory but all the crystals save the one in your base only took maybe two trips to mine it away but it made for some crazy battles

Use the "order" AI script.

If you get the firebot, camp the enemy spawn and use your other tanks are bait for the cannons. :D (assuming the jungle map one) Get much kill this way :D

UMS maps I luv: Marine Zone Control, WWII Europe Classic/GOLD/Plat (not DIE), Dipo Azia 2.2 (it rulz with upkeep rules and airpowra), Dipo Gold, Civil War Valley Campigan, Gettysburg.

P.S. Does anyone know any good defense scripts? What is the script used in Dipo Azia 2.2?

Beyond having them start with the neccisary Supply Depot/Overlord/Pylons, you can't.
