On Franken being a Wrestler, it is also mentioned in the section where he deals with September the 11th. When Boarding planes after the attack the usual question he was asked by the person he sat next to went something like this 'I used to play Football how bout you?'
Franken's reply 'Wrestling'
'Any trouble and we'll kill em right?'
'Yeah'
(Freanken then goes on to mention that he carried with him Three Baseballs, and an Accurate arm... and a Strong throw... his aim to basically smash any Terrorists face I suppose)
As to the incident I trust the CNN report... In fact the NYP isn't that one of the papers he attacks in Lies... for their inaccurate reporting?

Indeed it is. Let us also remember that this isn't the first time Franken has been falsely accused of starting a fight. FoxNews reported that he got into a fistfight with them at the White House Correspondence Dinner because he was bleeding on his chin from a shaving cut.Skelron wrote: As to the incident I trust the CNN report... I think Franken devoted a chapter in Liars to the New York Post--the one about "Prudenizing," IIRC. They're basically a conservative rag and they made that thing up. I don't know if falsely accusing him of an action like this is libel, but it's certainly bad journalism.

It's not that they made it up per say, Something did occur as CNN points out, it's in how they report it. The NYP article makes it sound he took action pretty much of his back and and basically makes him sound like a thug. The CNN report says that while yes he did help subdue from hecklers, it was in backing up the security of the place, and was done with an obvious minimum of fuss as few people actually knew anything occured.
In the NYP he's a Thug in the CNN he's just a guy helping out.

From a review of the two Towers.... 'As for Gimli being comic relief, what if your comic relief had a huge axe and fells dozens of Orcs? That's a pretty cool comic relief. '

No, when you omit a major part of the story (him working with security), and then add details which didn't actually happen (the bear hug and body-slam), its not creative differences. Its a fabrication.Skelron wrote:It's not that they made it up per say, Something did occur as CNN points out, it's in how they report it.
