Noooo, PETA got to Richard Pryor!

Post by Tsyroc »

It also looks like Jason Alexander got canned as the KFC spokesman becaust he was listening to PETA on this chicken cruelty thing.
Internet Movie Database wrote: Pryor Takes on KFC Over Chicken Cruelty
Disabled comedian Richard Pryor has joined animal activists People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals' (PETA) fight against fast food chain Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). As part of Peta's international campaign to pressure Kfc to crack down on its suppliers' cruel treatment of birds, the animal rights group has created new ads featuring the comic. In the ads, Pryor urges people to join him "in boycotting KFC restaurants until the company agrees to meet PETA's simple demands to eliminate the very worst abuses". Billboards featuring Pryor will run in Atlanta, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, and a print-ad version will appear in the top 10 African-American newspapers. Pryor is the latest in a growing roster of celebrities who have joined PETA's KFC campaign. Seinfeld star and ex-KFC pitchman Jason Alexander had his contract with the chain cancelled after PETA enlisted him to speak to company executives about the suffering of chickens. And Pamela Anderson publicly offered to meet with KFC representatives on her syndicated radio show. Meanwhile, more than 2,000 protests against KFC have taken place in cities around the world.

Mobilize the APL forces immediately!

Gah, why don't people realize that being associated with PETA automatically makes them look like morons?

What's the point in treating animals that you're going to kill and eat humanely? I mean, shouldn't treating them "humanely" include, I don't know, not killing and eating them?

Well, Kashrut requires treating the animals humanely, as well as killing them humanely, and I've yet to see tainted meat coming from those butcheries...

Who the hell takes Pamela Anderson seriously anyways? I doubt that a dumb big breasted blonde is going to change peoples beliefs.

You know, I'm not a fan of PETA, but there's such a thing as going too far the other way.

My wife grew up on a dairy farm, and they always tried to be nice to the cows. Even if their lives are destined to end poorly, why be cruel to them while they're here?

Well, needless cruelty not essential to raising the animal for food/milk is one thing, and obviously it's not a good thing. But I don't see why farmers should have to go out of their way to assure that animals we're going to slaughter and eat get treated extremely well.

PETA sucks, but I've seen how chickens are treated over there and it sucks too. I mean getting a bright light shoved onto their faces so that they eat shit 24-hrs a day until they blow up is pretty inhumane.

And if there's anything worse than a shitty comedian like Richard Pryor, is two shitty comedians like Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder.

The men in white cots will come and collect you shortly.

(unless, that is, you've foolishly formed your opinion of Richard Pryor based on his movies, as he never translated well from real comedy to film comedy)
