Ahhh. *wipes brow* Thought for a second that maybe you were one of my ex (or--egad--present!) students. I'm glad that wasn't why you posted what you did. Now I can breathe again. And keep on flirting.Rogue 9 wrote:Just that I'd never have pegged you for a teacher.
I'm an instrumental music teacher. Percussion is my main instrument, although I can play and teach everything, including voice. I teach a few percussion ensembles and have a number of private percussion students in my private studio.
That movie demonstrates the extent of the impact we teachers who are truly passionate about what we do can achieve. There no feeling like touching a student's life. It's incredible.

And yes, I teach high school and college.

Heh. Actually, its a remote possibility. I'm majoring in music education.

Awesome. Bass kicks ass. I'm better at cello, though. So sowwy.

I've seen this movie first when I was a teenager and it quite moved me. It was something new to see Robin Williams in that role after seeing him in Mrs. Doubtfire. It changed my oppinion about him. Yes, the movie had its share of cliches, but considereding the action in the context it was a great movie.
I've seen it again a couple of years ago and it still was very emotional to watch.

I remember thinking that the evil father was such an asshole and that no parent would really act like that.

no they did another one parodying Dead Poets Society. The Kernel wrote:That wasn't Robin Williams, it was Darma from Darma and Greg.zombie84 wrote: Well acted, but contrived and cheesy as hell. I always think of the Family Guy parody where they have Robin Williams jumping on the desks like a buffoon saying "look at me, i'm a free-spirit, i'm standing on a desk!"

It's been years since I've watched it, but I enjoyed it
"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

I liked it very much.
Though it hadn't any resemblence with my school and university life
