Creationist propraganda on PBS?
I just finished watching a program through my VCR, so I can only guess what channel it was but it looked like PBS - I couldn't tell because as I checked to see what it was with my TV, the show credits ended.
Anyway, the program was called "Muslim Faith" so it might have been on one of the multicultural or community channels instead of PBS. I'll check my TV Guide later if necessary- I'm in a bit of a hurry right now.
So... the program referred to scientists as "evolutionists." It linked evolution theory directly to Mein Kampf, Eugenics, and the Pith skull debacle in Britain. It claimed that scientists ignored frauds and forgeries in order to maintain their theories on evolution. I was stunned to see this on public television here in Ontario [on Cogeco cable]. It used bad logic in such a way that this forum would have a field day. If I catch it next week I'll take more detailed notes.

PBS most certainly does not endorse Creationist belief. NOVA and Nature are fine examples of their science programs.

Yeah, we've got a couple of channel like that in B.C. Pisses me off. My cable provider got rid of two channels I watch and brought in crap like that.zombie84 wrote:Doomriser, living in Ontario myself, it was most likely the CTS network-- this is a local religious channel that frequently (in fact exlusivly is more like it) shows fundie propaganda.

There's far more profit to be made by pandering to the stupid...C.S.Strowbridge wrote: Yeah, we've got a couple of channel like that in B.C. Pisses me off. My cable provider got rid of two channels I watch and brought in crap like that.
It's not my place in life to make people happy. Don't talk to me unless you're prepared to watch me slaughter cows you hold sacred. Don't talk to me unless you're prepared to have your basic assumptions challenged. If you want bunnies in light, talk to someone else.
