It's more expensive to run the state of Tennessee from the looks of it...

So, it's rebuilding a country, fighting a war, and establishing a government, all for less than the cost of running a single state.

Not too shabby, IMHO.

Considering most states can fund themselves right now and the federal govt likes to hand down unfunded mandates, I think it is pretty safe to say the war is hurting us economically. But all wars tend to do that.

I dunno why but Ive had an odd fascination with knowing how many soft skinned vehicles have been destroyed and what the cost is.

You miss the point. Compared to the costs of other things in the government, the war in Iraq is pocket money.

Yes, but it would have been easier to not go to war in Iraq than to divest the Union of the State of Tennessee.

I dont miss the point, all Im saying is that the cost of war in Iraq is a cost we can't afford. I dont care if its only 1.5% of total spending or some such figure.
