A vs movie??
Episode 3.5- trek wars
I think if there was one, they would make them equal probably in power, wouldn't make it real interesting if one clobbered the other real quick, we'd see a few ISD's destroyed, a few trek ships, maybe some planets.

Does it do anything for story other then arbitraily drag it out?Shrykull wrote:just to make the movie more interesting, to drag it out, unless you made it like Wong's fic.Ghost Rider wrote:Why would they be equal in power?
This would be making say the TMNT vs Godzilla and making them equal in power for the sole sake of dragging the story out.

Please, don't make that canon.Shrykull wrote:Episode 3.5- trek wars

A vs movie could be set up ST style. One ISD runs around rampaging. It keeps winning. They try everything, and it fails. Then comes the ST style deux-ex-machina: the Rebels fleet, which kills the ISD
Not very interesting, but at least it'd be consistent.

Hasn't this been done to death already? Of course it has! Shrykull, the King of Redundancy, posted it.
We've all agreed that a Star Trek vs. Star Wars movie would suck ass precisely because Hollywood would have to make it "interesting" (read: ignore everything that will get in the way of the good guys winning).

In a series of books by one Iain M Banks he writes of about a group called the Culture.Rogue 9 wrote:*Puts on flameproof suit before opening mouth.* What is this Culture of which you speak?
Very powerful being...but fun books. Could google Iain M Banks for more.

Well, they could use technobabble to summon the Rebel fleet. That way, they *do* save the show, in a sort of wayKazuaki Shimazaki wrote:Please, don't make that canon.Shrykull wrote:Episode 3.5- trek wars

Hmm...well, if I made the movie, it would have to be a series of movies, like the Lord of the Rings. Agreeably, the concept is too large to fit into a singe movie.JME2 wrote:No, no movie. As fun as it would be to have this, there are simply too many elements and layers to both universes to be able to easily adapt it into a two-hour movie, at least in my humble opinion. That's why I'm worried about the live-action EVA movies.
The movie would come about due to the "quantum reality" theory Trek brought up in that one episode. In other words, the movies would be a crossover of both universes, but because of the "quantum reality" aspect, both "real" universes aren't affected. That gives some leeway for character deaths, overall galactic impacts, etc.
While making this movie, my goal would be to include as many aspects of both franchaise as possible. For example, would want examples of bounty hunters, smugglers, crime lords, Imperial might, etc, etc from Star Wars. And for Star Trek, you'd want to introduce as many aspects as possible from there as well. Like the Federation(of course), Romulans, Klingons, Cardassians, Breen...the Borg.
I'd also try to introduce some concepts for both franchaise that haven't been seen before, but only hinted at. One thing that comes to mind is a hand phaser set to maximum power, wide beam that supposededly can take out half a building. That would make for one hell of an impressive display(for consistency's sake, it would be mentioned said phaser was heavily drained and the Federation frowns heavily upon such destructive application of the weaponry). I'd also have a massive ground battle raging between two forces, and have a single ISD come in with the captain ordering "Bombard the surface, all guns, maximum firepower!". This would result in many dozens of square kilometers burnt and destroyed, with the fighting forces anhiliated. (ironically, referencing the Star Wars movies only, this would actually be an impressive display)
Most definitely would have to have phaser beams deflected by lightsabers, Jedi and Sith involvement, etc. Just too many goodies I think.

This could be considered a "vs" movie.

That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.JME2 wrote:Well, when one considers that Lucas owns ILM, cost means nothing.Rogue 9 wrote:Sadly, that would be about a trilogy all by itself. Although it would be awesomely awesome. Hmm. Can't exactly go low budget, the SFX bill would be enormous.
Costs always mean everything.
I believe in a sign of Zeta.
