ANY pistol from the Weapon Shops of Isher.

It teleports into your hand when you want to fire it, aims itself for you, surrounds you with an energy screen, (energy protection only, lead, steel and fists still can get you) and won't let you shoot offencively. (Gun won't fire if there's murder in your mind) Can't be stolen by criminals, or used in a crime. (teleports back to owner, or becomes too "slippery" to grasp, depending on the mental state of attempted thief.) Never runs out of ammo. (remote power source)
Perfect weapon for the private citizen. Limited mechanical telepathy prevents abuse.
Hmmmmmm.

Either Leia's pistol which is small and concealable. Also can act as a secondary side arm for the DL-44 blaster. 15 powerful shots from it is very nice. 8) ~Jason
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

The Zat has the advantage of ergonomics. Also its just plain cooler.
And has the benefit of having the coolest activation and firing sounds. :)

No. But it can partially vapourize it, and trigger an explosion, which is far more devastating that NDFing the truck away. And it can do this repeatedly.

Nitpick: The DL-44 has 25 shots on its default setting.

And the Drearian Defense Conglomerate Defender is too weak to be really useful. Unless you have an amplifier like Leia did (good luck getting one) you might as well have a pellet gun. I'd prefer a Blas-Tech DL-6H myself (very small, but powerful).

No. But it can partially vapourize it,
Excuse me? I've never seen a blaster sidearm vaporize anything. Drill nice holes, yes, vaporize, no.
and trigger an explosion,
A lit match could trigger an explosion and blow up a vehicle. This doesn't really make the blaster pistol impressive.
which is far more devastating that NDFing the truck away. And it can do this repeatedly.
Said attack requires the truck to have existing fuel in it for the explosion. The phaser doesn't.

The point was a phaser could vaporize a large object in a single shot, something a blaster could never do.

Well, if you want to vape something and leave no traces behind, you can set a blaster to continuous fire mode and low power (like in the burning) and do it that way.

Which is exactly what makes the phaser superior in this regard, since it only requires one shot to do so. That was my point. :)

The good old Type I/II TOS Phaser combo for me.

The type I is detachable from the pistol frame and is versatile, nice and concealable, yet is powerful enought to take out anything on two legs and can dispose of the 'evidence' if needed.

If more power is required, then I snap it into the type II handgrip.

Simple, effective, and easy to use.

Nitpick: The phaser doesn't "vaporise" the large object. :D

The reload for a Type II TOS phaser is a Type I phaser snapped into the handgrip, so you can reload a Type II in combat.

But it normally would have said "you can't make another post so soon after the last, etc"

I clicked back and submit multiple times because I got an error message, and it didn't work.
