Close, but Bill Paxton's character's death was even better for a one time pussy turned bad ass to save him and his buddies.

Real life hero's get all my admiration first though.

Talkin about animated deaths, Roy Fokker had one hell of an exit. Knowing he was injured in battle, and waited till he got home and see his girl on last time and died on the couch.

There will never be a resolution in the evolution vs creationism debate because neither side can conclusively prove that they are right. The creationists can't prove that they're right becuase they're not, and the evolutionists can't prove that they're right because the creationists are too damn stupid to listen.

Most Chow Yun-Fat death scenes

Juliet Capalet (Her husband took the EASY way out, painless poison, she carved herself like a turkey.)*

Teresa Sharpe, in Sharpe's Enemies, Protecting her infant daughter from the scumbags, and insuring that the ONLY way those bastards were going to have her, was if the raped her corpse.*

Ryu Jose and Sleggar Law in Mobile Suit: Gundam, who both slammed their fighters into enemy targets to save their friends.

Anavel Gato in 0083, who charged a line of warships to ensure that a couple of his friends would live.

Bernard Wiseman in 0080, who attacked a Gundam to save a colony from nuclear attack and died succeeding.

Norris Packard in 08th MS Team, who brought down three Guntanks and severly damaged a Gundam before succumbing to defeat.

Spike from Cowboy Bebop. Takes on the whole fucking syndicate nearly single handedly. Takes out Vicious by himself after taking a throwing knife in the soldier. Then is able to calmly walk downstairs and face the rest of the syndicate. Says "Bang." Then falls down dead. Style in life. Style in death.

Yeah, like I said earlier, just about any Chow Yun-Fat death.

Perferably, where the police walk in there's a whole dead triad, and Chow's body is slumped into a sofa, with more lead in him then in the shielding around a nuclear reactor.

Actually I just watched the last episode of Cowboy Bebop which is why I thought of that. But now that I think about it, it does seem to be an homage to nearly every Chow Yun-Fat death. Good call.

How's about Matthe McConaughey in Reign of Fire? The moments leading up to his death were portrayed as this big triumphant moment in the trailers and commercials. This lone guy grabs a dinky axe, and without the slightest bit of fear leaps into the air face to face with a hundred foot dragon. Only in the movie we see that he ends up leaping right into the dragon's mouth. It was a stupid death and a complete waste of his own life, but macho nontheless.

Having just re-watched 3000 miles to Graceland may I recommend...

Thomas Murphy. With nothing more than a minimi and a cigarette he takes on a good portion of the continental USA's SWAT teams. And loses. Badly. But damn does he go out in style.

Most of these have already been suggested but whoi cares. Also where is the big sign saying SPOILERS as i'm pissed off at reading the Reign of Fire spoiler

Billy in Predator: He goes against a pred with just a knife!
The rookie cop in Predator 2: His last resort is a golf ball!
Gorman in Aliens
Tassedar in Starcraft.
Grom Hellscream from Warcraft 3
Arnie in T2: don't know if a termie can be matcho but it takes guts to be lowered into a pool of molten metal.
Kane in Command and Conquer: Doesn't wait for the ion cannon beam to reach him, he walks into it in style!
Arvyly Krynyd (sp): The guy that pilots his damaged A-Wing into the Executor's bridge!
Captain Tycho: (from 40K not SW) Takes on most of an ork army all by himself and even when he takes a power claw in the gut he still rips out his opponents jugular!

And finally:

Most of the main cast of Blackadder goes Forth. Blackadder may have tried to avoid it as much as possible, but when he couldn't avoid it any longer he climbed that ladder, went over the top and ran towards the German machine guns with a pistol and a stick, alongside private Lt. George, Cpt. Darling and Pvt. Baldrick. A fitting tribute to all the people who died in WWI.

Has to be P.F.C Hudson in Aliens. I remeber feeling disgusted after the aliens first attack when he drops to bits and starts sobbing and blubbering.
But when the aliens attack a second time, he redemed himself when he single handedly mows down something like 40 of the bastards.
Even when he was being dragged under the floor he got of a defiant "fuck you!!".Bad ass to the last man......
And I agree with 2000AD, Blackadder tries to avoid going over the top, but when it carn't be put of any longer, he stands shoulder to shoulder with the rest of his men, goes over the top and does his duty.
That episode of Blackadder is and was the most powerful anti-war message I personally have ever seen.

Pvt. Charlie Whitehorse, Windtalkers. OK movie, great death scene.

The guy is captured by four Japanese soldiers who realize that he knows the U.S. military's most secret code and attempt to drag him off. He sees Sgt. Anders, knows that he is going to have to sacrifice himself to save the code, and holds his ground for about a minute, with four well-trained soldiers doing their very best to drag him away. Anders throws the grenade and kills him, but takes all four of the Japanese soldiers with him. The look on his face when he realizes he is going to have to sacrifice himself is awesome.

Bulvie (not sure on the spelling) from the 13th Warrior. He was dieing from poison and had only a few warriors left to defend against an onlsought of vindal's. What did he do? Stood there infront of the charge and started to kick ass and even killed the leader of the vindal. At the end of the battle when he was victorious, he set his sword point down in the ground and sat on a chair like protusion on the wall all regal like and died.

I've allways enjoyed it. The book "Eaters of the Dead" was even better than the movie 13th Warrior but I truely enjoy both. Connan is a guilty pleasure of mine. Lots of good, and heroic stuff in there.

Piccolo in DBGT. The Earth is about to be destroyed, but he remains on the planet and says. "I cannot leave this world that I love so much." And dies. He isn't brought back IIRC, so it counts.
