He has to because of all the prophesies about Israel in the End Times and because the Bible clearly states that the Jews are supposed to own the land and not any "Palestinians."

I find this ironic because Pat (It's Pat!) spends all his time on the 700 club talking about how anyone who dosen't believe that jesus was the son of god (like, I don't know, THE ISRALIS?) is going straight to hell and now he's getting an award from the very people he is condemning

I agree. This has always confused me about fundies.

These are fundies. A literal interpretation of the Bible demands that they be Zionists. They will readily admit their inferiority to the Jews as Gentiles, but they will just as readily tout the fact that they are saved and the Jews have turned their back on God by denying Jesus as the Messiah. Nevertheless, they are still God's chosen people, and God doesn't break his racist covenants. Thus God will defend Israel to the end of the world.

Without a Jewish occupation of Jerusalem, end times prophecies can't be realised.
Part of that is why Jews were barely tolerated, but permitted, in medieval Europe. Without the Jews, no second coming.
