That's so sad. And tragically, this is how these things usually end up. When one hears that a kid's been taken, it's really hard not to immediately think: "How long till they recover the body."
It's sad and it's pretty scary to know that someone would abduct a child in broad daylight in a busy parking lot.

Crazy people do fucked up things. Most of you haven't heard, but in Ottawa there were two little girls killed a week or two ago not five minutes from my house by a vindictive ex of the mother who burned the girls to death in their own home. I was afraid that was going to be how this ended when they found the asshole on the video and didn't find her with him. The mall abduction from last year looks like it's going to have the same ending (police were saying before the snow started that they were treating it as a "recovery" rather than a "rescue" at that point.)
