As for MS...some of the examples have been others are people thinking they are but really aren't. Remember a MS is a character who is better then everyone....everyone. Think of some newbie unknown gimp created by some dork in his basement appearing in JL cartoon, but is able to outwit Bats, is more powerful then Supes, able to everything the rest can do(and more proficent and simply better at it), and on top of that woos the WW and Hawkgirl...only to die a tragic death by stopping Darkseid from destroying the universe with his last breath.
With that in mind very few people become Mary/Marty Sues.
