Guilty Pleasures

Post by Gil Hamilton »

OK, folks, let's talk about our guilty pleasures. Things that you aren't proud of, but you still do, like a bad habit. Don't worry, no one will make fun of you.

Just to get the ball rolling, I'll post my guilty, shameful pleasure.

Are you ready for this? You'll notice I'm never around on Tuesdays at 8:00. This is because I'm in front of the TV. Watching Gilmore Girls. Yes, Gilmore Girls. This is not something I'm necessarily proud of, but in my own defense, it's a really funny quirky show which I enjoy, so I don't miss it if I can help it.

At least 3-4 ice cream cones a day, and this is just about the most unhealthy ice cream imaginable, from the dining hall. I'm on the unlimited meal plan, so I can have as much as I want. It just tastes so good...

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

Since it seems to be television oriented thusfar, I'll say that my two biggest guilty pleasures are Roseanne and Disney musicals.

Oh, and The Patriot. Call me a simpleton, call me a shill, call me a jingoist, call me what you will. But I fucking love this movie.

Wow, you and HP Lovecraft have something in common. Ice cream was his drug of choice too. :D

Nothing wrong with Gilmore Girls. Alexis Bledel is CUTE. Plus it's a fairly good show.

I play Pokemon. It's retarded and childish, but fun and addicting. I'm a big fan of monster-raising games of all kinds, and pokemon was my first.
What's worse, I actually feel like I accomplish something by playing it.

Level 85, magnificent. I am a god among insects, no one can... Wait a minute! What am I doing!? This is a stupid game!!!

Not much of a TV watcher, but I watch American Idol from time to time, when I remember. I love to watch Simon criticize the bad singers.

I also enjoy young adult fantasy novels. I'm even a Harry Potter fan.

Level 85? Bah! I had about twenty Pokemon at level 100, and I had fed them all the stat boosters (you know, the calciums and proteins and so on) that they could eat...oh my-I just bragged about it! AAAAHHH! (runs off flailing arms in air and screaming)

(runs back) I have also been known to write the occasional unusual fanfic, such as a Harvest Moon 64/Gauntlet Legends crossover. Now, if you'll excuse me... (runs away again)
DPDarkPrimus is my boyfriend!

I bite my nails alot. So much so I almost have NO thumbnails.

I watch Nova Religiously.

I don't give to PBS, I harbor no illusions that MY fucking donation will end the fucking beg-a-thons. Plus I don't need the tax break. My tax breacket sucks balls as it is.

I listen to NPR ONLY. Nothing else. JUST NPR.

I argue alot about how pretty much any superhero/villan could kick neo's ass.

I smoke like a chimney

I enjoy Star Trek. Star Trek II, that is.

The top of the list for me would be bad music, and I mean bad. Whether it's industrial music that has people asking "what's wrong with your speakers?," Pop Tarts, banjo tunes, Gangsta rap, bagpipes, film scores, or the Red Army Choir; I've got something that will have just about everyone demanding I put on headphones.

I've also got a fondness for bad sci-fi and action-adventure, both movies and trashy paperbacks. Probably nothing that anyone on here would consider a "bad habit," but my girlfriend shakes her head about it.

Not only did I formerly play M:TG, but I bought several cards (most notably two of my Serra Angels) as singles for something like $20 apiece.

Oh yeah, and did I mention I read Ann Coulter?

I sometimes fantasize about destroying the entire universe.

I think naughty thoughts about the hot female presenters/actors on some cbbc shows. Especially the olsen twins. I want them to shut up and do things to each other.

Being lazy can be surprisingly fulfilling.

I sometimes point and laugh at my dogs shitting outside in the rain/snow/wind.

I sometimes listen to limp bizkit.

I actually quite like marduk.

I now probably like dimmu borgir at an unhealthy level.

EDIT: Oh yeah, i'm a pervert too.

EDIT 2: I also partake of the pokémon, not linked with the above edit.

Digimon and Neopets.

I've got Digimon 1 & 3 and Digimon DigiCard Battle on PS1. But I've played and finished every single Digimon game there is. I've also watched all of Season 1 and part of season 2 (was unable to see the rest due to my schedule)

Once and a while I'll logon to Neopets and collect several thousand Neopoints.
