Probably crack, followed by nicotine, web boards, then potatoe chips. In that order.

i'd say crack, niccotine, web boards, then caffeine instead of chips.

It has been scientifically proven that the most addictive substance on Earth is actually Champagne Powder.

I read though, that on a first use, only 38% of people get addicted to heroin.

The number is far higher when you let someone use the Internet.

I'd rate crack cocaine and nicotine on the same level, simply because I know people who've been hooked on Tobacco from the first cigarette, and crack cocaine you know is addictive from the first. However, nicotine actually alters your brain to accept more levels of acetylcoline, while Cocaine just makes you want it, it's more of a psychological dependence than a physical addiction...

Never tried the first two, but forums are pretty damn addictive. Come to think of it, sunflower seeds are pretty addictive too... I nearly always have one in my mouth when I'm online. I keep a bag near the computer. Sad, huh? And the already-shelled kind aren't the same, you have to bite them open with your teeth or you don't get the true sunflower-seed experience.

Nicotine is chemically more addictive than crack, at least going by the rate of users who eventually become addicted. In all cases, however, the numbers are smaller than you might think--something like 37% of all people who ever try nicotine ever become addicted, with smaller numbers for cocaine, heroin, alcohol, et al. People with the right brain chemistry can become physically addicted their first time, but for the most part, "One hit of [insert drug] and you're hopelessly addicted!" is a myth. The real problem is that the first time many people try hard drugs like coke or heroin, it feels mind-blowingly good (the first hit of heroin is supposedly better than an orgasm), and someone who isn't yet physically addicted will try the drug again to return to that state.

In case any non-smokers are wondering, for most people, their first cigarette produces a short lived but intense buzz, which draws a lot of people back for their second cigarette even though the first might have made them cough and feel nauseous.

Never having touched crack or a cigarette, I hold Message Boards to be the most addictive.

I'm willing to bet that the most addictive substance is oxygen.

Stop giving yourself doses for half a minute, and you go into withdrawl. You're so hopelessly addicted, that a few minutes without it is lethal.

Actually, I think that oxygen does qualify as being addictive.

I think it depends mostly on the person. Psychological addictions can vary greatly depending on the persons mental state (depressed, manic, etc.)

Anime, even though drugs would be cheaper.

And of course this board as my 3000+ posts will attest.
