I was talking about the stock motors, not custom built ones! I agree that anyone in his right mind building or rebuilding a 350 is going to use semi-metallic gaskets and high-quality seals and whatnot. MY only experience is with stock 5.7's with the Crap Rods and weak-assed rings. However, my experience with the Rarer 301's has been nothing short of spectacular. Baby V-8 it may be, but that is a fucking BADASS motor.

I'm most likely going to have to motor on with my boring ass Civic for many years. Should fortune smile on me I might look at a new Mazda 3.

When I was a kid I loved the 5.0 Mustangs. Hehe, I'd never drive one now. Ford's just don't hold up compared to imports.

dude, go with the civic and spring for the EX model with the 130 hp VTECH engine. It flies and it will last for hundreds of thousands of miles.

I don't like the new body styles for Civics/Accords. This is my second Honda, Im ready for a change. Although, I do agree with you that they last a long time.

Thread necromany, sorry.

As for the engine in the car, it's a 5.7l 350TPI(It's a GTA) and I've been around those engines alot as well.
And they have not been modded ones either, take my friends camaro, no mods on that engine and it's got 510,000 miles on it and it's still running smoothly and nothing's been done to it but regular maintenance, I must say I utterly disagree with Chardoks statement I don't know what kinda shit he's been around.
