I dunno..My brother has a similar car to mine and it seems ok. Thing is that I am no boy racer..I dont need a race car, I need a car to get from a to b and then to D and back to C reliably.

Well some of the hills around here mean that if I've got a couple of guys in my car I can't go up the hill (on the highway mind you) at more than about 65mph/100kph. This is too slow, bordering on the hazardout when people are going by at 25kph or more.

Obviously. But there are reliable, inexpensive cars that can't be demolished with a whiffle bat.

You must have a high speed limit..ours is a maximum of 100kph...as such a 1.3 is adequete. of course if our top limit was more I would want a car with more grunt.

Thats what? 110kph? America has different roads to us, ours are narrower and somewhat windyer

Arizona has 75mph speed limits. Everyone goes 85.

Closer to 120 I believe. And that's the low end speed limit, some place it's 100 mph easy or none at all.

One local highway I'm on alot has a 55mph limit and yet hitting 80 is very common, 100 not unheard of. Its pretty telling that in the six years after the US federal government repealed the law limiting rural highway speed to 65mph in 1995, 29 states raised there own limits up to 70+, well at leapt for some stretches of road. America is big, driving fast a requirement.

Most places the posted speed limit actually makes sense. Unfortunately a lot of areas aren't enforced or it's too difficult to enforce them.

In other instances the looooooooong flat roads in certain parts of the country could really stand to have speed limits higher than 75mph. One of the problems, IMO, is that our interstates usually end up going directly through cities and while the speed limits usually require drivers to slow down most people don't.

IMO some of the speed limitis within Arizona cities are a little on the high side for real safety, and considering that it's easy to get away with going 5-10 mph over that it's no wonder we have so many traffic fatalities. It also doesn't help that so many people are driving "tanks" (SUVs) these days.

This I can undersand.It all depends on th nature of the roads you have. ours are narrower with more bends..we also have a lot of metal/dirt roads around in some areas.
