Where are you on the political spectrum?

Well, I'm hoping this hasn't been posted in the past (with the same reference, anyway). I did a search for any reference to this particular survey and didn't find any, so... Anyway, a (Libertarian) friend of mine showed this to me the other day, and I thought it was kind of neat. It's a very short 10-question survey asking five economic and five 'personal' questions to which you can answer yes/maybe/no. It claims to be a fairly accurate assessment of your political viewpoints. Also claims that some people are surprised by the results because their actual standing doesn't jive with what they perceive their standing to be. *shrug* Assess it's accuracy as you will, but I think it's at least interesting.

The Advocates' Political Survey

It rates me as a Centrist with slightly Libertarian leanings. I don't know if that's accurate or not. Most of my views are regarded as 'conservative' with a few of them being 'liberal,' so *shrug*

I don't know how accurate that is. For one thing it fails to take into account a greater complexity of issues, and the choices even are pretty narrow.

Still, I got a centerist with libertarian leanings. Accurate enough.

Yeah, that was my thought as well -- seems like a pretty narrow sampling with an even more simplistic answering scheme to assess such a complex question, but...*shrug*

It's kind of interesting to see what it says.

That is a very short quiz. It doesn't gather a lot of data, so take its results with a grain of salt. Either way, I was judged to be a centrist with mild economic conservative/authoritarian leanings.

A somewhat better political quiz is the Political Compass.

I'm very slightly Libertarian socially (1.03) and a bit more left economically (3.38).

Second quiz: Right-Authoritarian.

But somewhat more mild than in the first quiz (Econ: 0.62, Soc: 0.87). I'm just a little to the left of Gerhard Schroeder.

My views on different issues are so scattered all over the field that these quizzes never know where to put me, so they all make me centrist.

I heartily disagree with the Democrats half the time and with the Republicans the rest. I am therefore an independent, and have formed a Rogue party.

"I'm terribly sorry, but that entire quiz was BS. I'm only halfway through that quiz of yours, but the questions are strongly biased towards the left. They state a leftist opinion as fact, then ask you if you belive it's true of not."

Also:

"'Abstract art that doesn't represent anything shouldn't be considered art at all.' the hell? Has absolutely nothing to do with your political affiliation."
