This test places me as a left-liberal, but almost all of the more comprehensive tests that I've taken, including the political compass, list me as more of a centrist, which seems right.

Both quizes pegged me as a right-authoritarian, which is basically a fascist. There was another who got right-authoritarian, too.

Meh... nothing surprising:

Economic Left/Right: 0.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.03

That would make me a centrist with slight Libertarian leanings...

Both the tests give similar results...

Sort of related, but does anyone else notice that there seem to be a lot more libertarians on the Internet than in the total population? Maybe they're just more active.

Hmm... the test from The Advocates gave me a "personal self-government" score of 70% and an "economic self-government" score of 40%, so that I fell right on the Centrist/Left-Liberal dividing line. The Political Compass came out 2.25 economic right/left, and -0.77 social libertarian/authoritarian, making me "right-libertarian." Since I tend to be a fence-sitter, I'm not surprised.

I voted centrist, although I tend to agree with the conservatives on a lot of issues.

Well, let's see...

For one, I'm pro corporate and support business and industrial interests. I believe that social assistance and welfare programmes should be eliminated, and that labour unions have long outlived their usefulness, and only get in the way of the economic interests of both the corporation and the average worker. I am a believer in the class divisions of society, feeling that they are integral to maintaining order and stability, and additionally give people something to strive for. I am pro taxation, but do not believe that the wealthy should be punished by paying most of the nation's taxes, nor do I hold any hostility toward those that have more money than I. I believe that the primary purpose of criminal incarceration is punishment rather than rehabilitation, and support the use of the death penalty in regards to serious crimes. I do not believe that the government is becoming more and more like a Big Brother or that we are transitioning into a system like 1984's English Socialism with our increasing security methods and measures, as I feel that the only ones that have anything to fear are paranoid for a reason. I do not support socialist or anarchistic ideals that are damaging to society, etc...
