A Jedi's lightsaber

Post by Comosicus »

Here's something I've made up: my first lightsaber. It is made after a tutorial I found on the Internet and it's Photoshop, not 3D, but it's the first. Maybe more later.

Try tapering the saber at the end.

Yes, that's the idea.

Agreed. As it is now, it looks like a Jedi baseball bat. Not to discourage you or anything... it's a very good Jedi baseball bat. :P

I'd be the type of Jedi to have a blue lightsabre... actually I want it to be white to be exact... ACTUALLY I just thought of something:

here

a pic of me and a white lightsabre (and yes, it is me)

Better, but I think it could still be a little sharper. There's also something wrong with the tip, like it's the wrong shade of blue or something. Anyone else see it?

New update.

I was always under the impression that the blade had parallel edges and only the tip was rounded.

The tip begins to get darker, it ought to be a bit brighter.

Keep in mind that the blade is supposed to be a metre long.

And the hilt is described as being 30 centimetres long. Also I, Jedi describes the blade of a 'sabre a 133 ccentimtres.

I've never read anything from the EU. All the information I have is from visual (movies). And Yoda's lightsaber certainly does not have 133 cm

It's a nice blade...but the handle should have a bit more rounder head. Having the perfectly square head is not quite what the movies have really.

But hilt lengths differ. According to Master Replicas (who get to handle the actual props), Anakin's is about 3 cm shorter than Obi Wan's.

Comosicus' sabre could also be one of those short ones from KOTOR.

Not bad, but what's with the black stuff at the tip? The light looks a little grainy...

Doubtful given those had a hilt more in common with Dooku's saber.

I believe he's just going for a classic look.

I think I'll restart working on that saber. I've tampered with it so much that I can't reverse (multiple savings and no backup copies  ). I'm a beginner in graphics and my Photoshop skill are not so developped.

Thank you all for you opinions. It's good to have feed-back to your work.

Are you trying for something like this? I didn't create the pommel, just the blades.

Nice thing. But I have a couple of exams this week, so I have to delay my Jedi training
