The End: A Cowboy Bebop fanfic
Ok guys, I just had to write this and since you like CB so much. This is my theoretical ending for The Real Folk Blues from Ed, Faye and Jet's perspective. Let me know what you think.
The End
"Bang." Spike Spiegel's body collapsed on the stairs of the top floor of the syndicate building. He'd finally done it. His life was finally finished. Viscious was dead. Julia was dead. He was finally sure he had been alive, if only for a brief moment. He thought of Julia's last words as the life drained from his body.
"It was all a dream."
Edward Wong Hau Peplu Tivursky IV, as she had named herself, walked along the edge of a great crater. She was still in search of her father. Something in the sky demanded her attention, so she looked up.
A star streaked across the sky. Somehow, Ed knew exactly what it meant. "Good bye, Spike person. Best of luck in Eternity."
Beside her, Ein whimpered in sympathy. After a moment, she began to howl. Her howls were soon joined by others, all honoring the memory of a great man.
Edward looked down at her canine companion. She tilted her head a moment before throwing it back and howling herslef.
Faye Valentine had pulled her ship out onto the deck of the Bebop. She was considering dumping it in the ocean. As she pondered, she lay on the top looking up at the sky. She inhaled the toxifying smoke from her cigarette and held it in her mouth a moment.
As she exhaled, she saw a star falling on the horizon.
"You actually did it," she said quietly. "God, Spike. Why?"
She let the tears fall down her face. She couldn't wait for Jet to get back so she would have a shoulder to cry on.
Jet saw the explosions. That has to be Spike, he thought. He ran as fast as he could towards the syndicate building. It was being blown to bits. He followed the trail of carnage up to the top of the building.
There he was, lying on the steps. "Damnit Spike." Charging up the steps, not caring that there were half a dozen of Viscious's men surrounding him with machine guns. He dropped to his knees and turned Spike's body over.
There was a tiny bit of life left in him. Spike smiled up at Jet. "I knew you'd come."
"Quiet, Spike. Just stay quiet. I'm going to get you to a hospital and..."
"Too late." He coughed, blood coming up from his lungs. "Jet. Take care of her, ok?"
Jet blinked. "Faye?"
"She needs you, Jet. Just take care of her." His eyes closed.
"No Spike, you can't leave me. You can't leave US!"
"I found it, Jet. I found my life. It was all a dream." He exhaled for the last time.
The older man looked down at his partner, his friend. "SPIKE!" He held him close, crying. Jet didn't care who was there.
After a few minutes, he picked up Spike's body and carried him out of the building. Nobody stopped him. He walked the entire way back to the Bebop carrying his friend.
Faye saw him approaching and jumped down from her ship. "Is he?"
He didn't answer, but continued on into the ship.
Faye followed timidly, not sure what to make of the situation. "Jet, what are you doing?"
"He deserves a decent funeral." He moved into the storage area and found a crate big enough to hold Spike's body. Kicking off the lid, he gently lay him inside.
Faye put a hand on his shoulder. "He did exactly what he intended."
Jet flinched at her touch, but remembered Spike's last words. Spinning around, he pulled Faye into his arms. He held her close as he cried.
Faye was in shock. She'd never seen Jet show emotion before. Something made her wrap her arms around him. Her emotions flowed through her. Together, they cried for their fallen comrade.

Woops, you should not have read the Verlion and Kelly though I say its nice its fitting, it just does not match the CB this time around, Spike death
THAT WAS IT
Thats the end, THE END, it ended the series in a tear-jerking but I think perfeclty
I remeber first time watching CB on DVD with five friends us around the couch, it was around 9pm and then
Bang....
We all sat there, pretty much still while the end credits rolled and did not stir till it all ended...

Cowboy Bebop has the saddest, most bittersweet ending in all the anime I've seen yet. Still, though, I can't bring myself to believe that he's really gone.
Oh Kelly, I don't think Spike's star was meant to be a falling star, rather a fading star, as I recall.

Bean: I sat there too, eventhough I was expecting it. It was still quite gut wrenching. However, I have been thinking for weeks about how the others would view it.... how they would ever carry on.
Remember everyone, this is just an interpretation. I'm not trying to sully the ending of the story.
Dalton: FWIW, I can agree with you partially. While the ending is great, you can't expect Jet to NOT have gotten there in time to save him.
