Imperial escort carrier ends up in Mirror Star Trek universe

Scenario:

In an alternate Star Wars universe, the Galactic Empire defeated the Rebel Alliance at the Battle of Endor. The GE is now has undisputed control over the GFFA.

A couple of years following the Battle of Endor, an Imperial escort carrier en route to a remote outpost on the border between Imperial and Chiss space disappears. The escort carrier, while in hyperspace, accidentally flew through an anomaly and ended up in the mirror Star Trek universe. The Hornet Nest is carrying 6 stormtrooper landing shuttles (as seen in Episode IV Special Edition), 4 TIE Interceptor Squadrons, 1 TIE Bomber Squadron, and 1 TIE Defender Squadron. It is carrying enough supplies for all of the fighters to engage is sustained combat operations for 6 months and enough fuel to travel through hyperspace for 9 months. The carrier is also equipped with a battalion of approximately 800 stormtroopers. The stormtroopers were supposed to relieve another unit on garrison duty at the carrier’s intended destination, which is why they were on the carrier. There are no AT-AT’s or AT-ST’s on the carrier.

The carrier is also carrying these specialized warheads for starfighter use: 5,000 proton torpedoes, 2,500 Heavy Rockets (from the X-wing games), 500 Space Bombs (from the X-wing games), and 3,000 concussion missiles.

The commander of the vessel is from Bakura. He prefers the company of humans, but he is not as racist as Ysanne Isard or Krennel, for example.

The Hornet Nest scans the surrounding space and decides to investigate Bajor. Upon arriving in Bajor he discovers that the civilizations of this galaxy have inferior starship technology and that apparently humans (called terrans in the mirror universe) have been subjugated by the Cardassian-Klingon Alliance. The Imperial commander raids Terok Nor and takes a few prisoners. He learns about the history of the mirror universe and that a terran rebellion has begun.

What does the Imperial commander do?

First priority is survival. In the short term, this means staying safe from hostile attack - we can assume the Klingons and Cardassians are so stupid that they'll try brute force before diplomacy, and subsequently get their arses handed to them. With the prisoners the Imps will get a good idea on what the situation is like in this area of space, and a few data raids will secure some information that cryptography can work out. With the fantastic speed difference, the Imps can go anywhere they want and not have to fear reprisal. But they've got limited fuel, so it's not like they'll be jumping all over the place.

In the long term this means finding a way back home, if one exists. A secondary goal is that, if a means to return home is not available or not possible (at least in the near future) then finding a base of operations would be necessary. This means allying with sympathetic parties and attempting to secure a source of fuel (if possible, I don't know anything about SW fuel). They could get involved in the whole "Terrans versus Everyone Else" thing that pervades the DS9-era Mirror Universe, but without a source of replacement supplies and fuel the most the Imp captain can do is lend Stormtroopers as "military advisers."

Well, really he'd likely try to find a way to get home. Whether he helps the terrans or not depends entirely on whether he's devoted to his race and despises seeing humans subjugated by aliens sufficiently to neglect his first duty to his ship.

9 months in hyperspace? Do you mean continuous hyperspace travel? Depending on how far away the GFFA is, that might actually get him there. :wink: Your stats say a class 1 hyperdrive (curious, since ISDs only pack a class 2, IIRC), which could be fast enough. I doubt it, though.

Hmmm, assuming a straight hyperspace jump of 9 months, with a hyperdrive x1 rating (I believe the transport Anakin and Padme used in Episode 2 had a x2 or x4), that would be at least 10,000 Light years per hour.

24 hours per day, approx 280 days (i'm going with 250 days) is about 60,000,000 light years.

Assuming a nice smooth hyperjump (no anomoly's to work around), returning to there home galaxy and reporting this galaxy nice and ripe for conquest would be rather easy.

Incidently, a hyperjump at these speeds would only take 9 days to reach Andromeda from the Milky Way Galaxy.

ImpStars have a Class 1 hyperdrive, its Victories that have a Class 2, IIRC.

so i was right, imps have a class 2, vics have a class 1 making them twice as fast! I ddin't mention impIIs at all.

There are a few different ways I think this scenario could play out.

1) The Imperial commander would attempt to calculate the location of his home galaxy. If he is successful and his home galaxy is within reach, he would attempt to go home and report to his superiors the existence of this easily conquerable galaxy.

2) Assuming that his home galaxy is well beyond the range of his ship or that he was not able to locate it, he would decide to make the Milky Way his new home.

The thought of having humans subjugated by aliens would most likely bother this Imperial commander greatly. If he were going to stay in the Milky Way he would probably assume leadership of the terran rebellion (I'm sure that they would welcome his help). With the significant firepower at his disposal, he could defeat the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance in a fleet battle. The Imperial forces would probably suffer from attrition though, so he would need to secure a base of operations for building more fighters and other starships.

He would also need to train a larger ground force. He could use his stormtroopers to begin training terrans in ground warfare. He could also begin liberating terrans and taking them to his base of operations. There he could start training an army. By launching raids with the Hornet Nest, he could secure commodoties for trade. He could use those funds to purchase the services of mercenary organizations, which he could use to distract the Alliance while he builds his forces.

In several months, he could launch a major offensive against the Alliance.

The TIE Defenders and any other ion-cannon armed craft will be extremely helpful for capturing enemy vessels...assuming they don't just fall apart if their systems get knocked out. Damn Structural Integrity Fields, anyway.

Assuming that a return home was impossible, an Imperial commander wouldn't waste his time attacking large fleets. First, he would find an inhabitable system far enough away from the action to be safe from a merely warp capable enemy and designate it his base. His men will eventually mutiny unless there are women for them, so win or lose, a viable human colony with plenty of women is mandatory.

He would then go into spy mode and attempt to learn as much about the enemy and capture as much local technology as possible. Transporters and replicators would be invaluable, as well as warp drive. His sublight fighters, especially the unshielded ones, wouldn't be of much use against even a warp capable shuttle with a phaser or transporter. He would have to devise defenses against that technology, as well as integrate it into his armament.

He would establish his colony site, then jump in to enemy territory and beam up useful humans to populate it, as well as loot the technology that he required such as large industrial replicators. To cover his tracks, he could simply destroy the stations and obliterate the colonies that he raided. If he had the ability, he might stir up suspicion between the partners of the Alliance. Use a captured Klingon ship to attack for instance.

With replicators or even transporters, he could duplicate his shipboard droid force until he had millions, or even billions. With billions of droids, especially astromech droids that could interface with the replicators and enough willing Terran humans to do his bidding, the Imperial Governor would soon have his capitol up and running as an vast Imperial arsenal, training up an enormous army and navy.

Before the alien forces knew exactly what they faced, the Klingon, Romulan and Bajoran homeworlds would simply be obliterated, BDZ'd using small droid ships with hyperspace technology, transporters and numerous antimatter warheads as near to simultaneously as possible. Modified probe droids could pop in out of nowhere and deliver several dozen warheads each with a transporter based delivery. Perhaps a gruesome biological attack that would halt travel in the Alliance could come first, if the medical droids were up to it. If subspace communications could be disrupted or jammed, so much the better.

With a sufficiently brutal level of destruction, the remnants of those alien empires would be paralyzed with terror. Leaderless combined fleets would be split as the remaining alien colonies called their boys home to look to their own defenses. Industrial support areas and planets would be mercilessly smashed by the mysterious, unstoppable bombardment, leaving the military and civil space fleets paralyzed.

Terra and other majority human colonies could then be attacked and cleaned out by transporter. Destroy the alien ships, satellites, military bases and ground forces with neutron bombs and then beam the loose aliens into space. Human casualties would be significant, but would an Imperial care?

Once Terra was clear of aliens, an Imperial shield would be erected and the final extermination of all Alliance aliens in Imperial Space (everywhere) could commence. Droids make better slaves, so there would be no reason for humans to keep aliens around, unless the women were hot. The Terrans would want to kill them all anyway, so it would help ensure their unbreakable loyalty if the extermination was carried out under the Imperial banner.

As for the differences in SW and ST technology, I always thought that a good plot device to explain it would be if events in the SW galaxy occurred long ago in relation to ST, so long ago that subspace was less stable then.

The universe expands, after all. It had to grow and cool off for that subspace based crap to work. Warp drive was slower, antimatter reactors were more dangerous, transporters and replicators didn't work and phaser style weapons were unworkable in the SW age due to a hotter and more chaotic subspace. So the SW humans bypassed it all. But they would easily be able to understand it.

One shot, one kill. TIE cannons are that much more powerful than Trek shields. They're a threat all right.

Good luck packing that kind of firepower and a hyperdrive onto small droids. And multiple warheads carried by a probe droid? What are you smoking?

Ok 1) said captain goes loking at charts and either finds his home galaxy or not.

If he can't get home he has two options use trek tech or try to build SW tech. As noone knows whether the trek universe has the resources choice 2 is chancy. As I would guess that SW and trek tech is totally thoroughly incompatible then I am sure he can't just use trek tech and hyperdrive. Conquest is unlikely as he doesn't have the troops or heavy equipment to win..
