Unless it was a from a grenade or mine that went off > 20 metres from them, it is extremely likely that such information would be useful, assuming they had protection of any sort. And if they do detect it, chances are they all die a couple seconds later.evilcat4000 wrote:The tricorders carried by Feddies might prove useful in detecting a chemical attack before it hurts them.
While I doubt it originated there, a lot of people think it goes in the heart because of the movie The Rock in which that is stated to be the case and one character does it. Of course, the injector shown also is a manual hypodermic syringe with a huge needle that would pierce straight through your heart.Faram wrote:About the nerve gas antidote. Why the hell is everyone convinced that you should take it in the HEART?
When I was in the army the ABC (Atomic,Bio,Chemical) orientation instructed us to pick up one of the autoinjectors from the RIGHT leg pocket inject it in the leg and put the spent cap in the breast pocket.
Is the Bioantidote into the heart a brainbug from the us media?
The brainbug could be older than that. The first on-screen depiction of somene taking a needle to the heart that I know of was in Pulp Fiction. In that scene they were adminstering adrenaline to a woman who'd OD'd on heroin, but it seems like a good place for a "inject lifesaving medicine into the heart" brainbug to start.Sea Skimmer wrote:While I doubt it originated there, a lot of people think it goes in the heart because of the movie The Rock in which that is stated to be the case and one character does it. To the Tricorder picking up the gas thing...
The Tricorder would first pick up the Missile fired, then (after the hit) the Gas. Which would be a tad too late i suppose.
Well this " mystical" Skin sealing stuff sounds cool. Any canon evidence for it? I never saw it. But, it dosent sound right, Because it would mean Red Shirts would be at least a bit capale of doing anything ground warfare wise.
