I'm not a Democrat or a Republican. I voted Kerry because he looks to be the Not-Bush vote. As sad as it sounds, I find myself voting against people I really loathe rather than for people I support.
Can you even imagine what the fundies will do once Bush is reelected and doesn't have to worry about appeasing all sides for four years? Fuckin' fundies have to be stopped somewhere or my life is essentially forfeit.
Actually, my government teacher always told us that if there's no one you really agree with then vote against whoever you disagree with most.
My government teacher told me, "My country, right or wrong!" He along with all my other teachers (this was a PUBLIC high school, mind you) wanted creationism and organized prayer in schools. Then he made us watch Bill O'Reilly shows and refused to hear any legitimate criticisms of any of the idiocy that we heard on the show (not that he stopped me from saying them, but he didn't listen to me). And he enjoyed making girls cower before his grand five-foot height and was quite confused when not only was I not afraid of him, but I mocked him and everything he said to his face in the middle of class. And made good points.
I don't put much stock in anything government teachers have to say.
At least Kerry doesn't look to be a fundie nutcase, and that's all the agreement I need.

You know where Commerce is? It's north up 441 when you leave Athens, about twenty miles. I don't know if you know much about the shopping scene but it's where the big outlet malls are. That's how most people know about the town.

Yeah, Commerce. I've been up 441 a couple of times.

I say we take Jon Stewart's suggestion and storm the Bastille! Although that was in response to the general messed up qualities of the whole system and not just against bush.
but I doubt the lack of evidence to support your conclusion would change your mind.
Likewise.
Iraq didn't attack the US. Did you lose your marbles at CPAC or something?
Manson didn't put the knife into Sharon Tate either. And I didn't say Iraq attacked the U.S. Reading is fundamental.
I'm sure you don't give a flying fuck about the facts either.
I'm sure I don't give a flying fuck what you think of my opinions on the matter. Oh, and when you can point to absolute, 100% proof that Iraq had never dealt with terrorists, or couldn't possibly have access to WMDs, let me know.

Poe, I agree with you and all, but that's asking for proof of a negative.
Exactly.

"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."
Nope, its quite simple. I've been watching the news, reading the papers. I've yet to see one report where there's 100% proof Bush lied about WMD in Iraq. I've yet to see one bit of 100% conclusive proof that Bush invaded Iraq because he felt like it. If we're going to nitpick one another over absolute facts, let's do it evenly.
But that's neither here nor there. I gave my opinion like everyone else.

Going for Kerry, just because CA will have zero chance of going with a Republican anyway. So... let's just be cynical and make it a landslide for Kerry in the Golden state.

I know Claire Wolfe said something similar, "America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards."

One can come to a conclusion without a black/white demand for "100% conclusive proof". There isn't 100% conclusive proof that OJ Simpson isn't still searching for the real killers either, but that doesn't mean you can't come to a conclusion.
But that's neither here nor there. I gave my opinion like everyone else.
