I have lots of troubles with my mother. There is something wrong with her.
She is unable to maintain a job for any period of time. This obviously causes
lots of problems. Right now she is living with me, but it cant go on for long.
I would like to date and have an independent adult life. Chicks like it if you own your own place, but they dont dig it when mom is sleeping on the couch.

My mom fucking rules. When I go home, she loads me up with calorie-laden food to take back to school, and over breaks, she buys me Corona. :D

Seriously, learn to love your moms. When you're off at university, you'll really appreciate their babying. :D

Let's just say mine unknowingly forced me to contemplate suicide.

She also forced me to half-raise my little brothers and sisters, wait on her hand and foot, make food for everyone, two-three meals a day, sneak out of the house to go to school (thus almost forcing me on an attendance contract my sophomore year of high school), clean up after my siblings, clean the dishes, the yard, the garage, AND the laundry on a set schedule, tutor my little brothers and sisters, have no social life for 2.5 years...

And she beat me and my siblings, and my sister to the point where she was put in jail.

Plus she plays me against my stepdad (who does it to my mom in return). And she abhors my beliefs and anything I do to be independent.

And I have to call her to see how things are going down there...she doesn't really care how I'm doing.

She spoils all 5 of my lower siblings, and couldn't give two shits about me except that I ended up with a computer that doesn't work and a bubble-jet printer that she didn't even know if it would hook up to the computer.

Basically, when I lived with her, my mom was the complete She-Devil.

Did I mention that I never had any time for my own homework, and that if I attempted to do it, I was sent to make food/do dishes/bed?

Yet I am first-generation college student...

Funny how life works out, innit?

My mom has been generally great and we generally get along just fine. Athough everyone has their problems. As a whole over the past 20 years of my life we have a great relationship and we both love eachother etc. But sometimes... Man I don't know what it is but she occasionally just totally goes ballistic.

During many of the arguments we have had in the past, she thrives off playing the guilt game, and of making up lies about me in a ridiculous display of theatrics (often infront of my brother and sister as if to win an audience to her side), and overinflating minute and often irrelevant things to the point of insantity. She also recycles all the same garbage arguments against me as though she thinks that I haven't learned or haven't already taken in the information a hundred times already.

Fuck but the biggest surprise was that once she even admitted diliberately trying to push me as far as possible just to see how far I would go in return, as though she was doing everything possible to see if I would break and start smacking or beating her or something. Luckily I wasn't that stupid and didn't get drawn in to that point by her temporary insanity.

In the end, we still have/had our issues but we also have an unusually strong family bond and overall life has been great. I am proud and feel lucky to be her son as well as to have the life that I do.

Got no problems with my mom. She's an old-world Italian and comes with all the mothering instinct that that implies :)

No problems with my mum either, also like Dalton's mine is an old world Greek, and man I love it. Plus she is soooo tiny (just above my diaphram) so she couldn't even intimidate me anymore (since I was like 10)!

Love ya mum! :D

The only problem I have with my mom is she doesn't take care of herself as much as she does the rest of the family. Well, that and she can get a little preachy sometimes, but I think that has to do with the whole born and raised (deep) in the Bible Belt deal.

Both of my parents are pretty cool. They only complaint I have is that they want to have grandkids & unfortunately my sister and her husband have been slacking in providing at least temporary cover for me.

Other than that my mom is a little difficult to get along with at times. She's not bad if you've been around her for awhile so you understand her but it can be a bit of a problem when people don't. She seems to have a knack for getting pissed at or pissing off in-laws. I always get to look forward to that nice feeling of tension whenever there's a big family get-together. Something usually gets said one way or another. Either she get's pissed or they do, almost always.

I guess it's just best to say she's a tad tempermental. Nothing real awful but mildly stress inducing alot of the time.

I guess I've been lucky. Mom and I have had disagreements, sure, but she was always there. She's tough too, and doesn't take crap from nobody. The only thing I wonder about is that she drives her big truck going to auctions and picking up stuff. The house looks like a museum. Oh well. But she did travel 5000+ miles to come see her grandson's first birthday.

Mine is a good mum, but she can nag and nag sometimes. I hate the way I say something as a joke, which then ends up being the topic of a 10 minute lecture. She can be stubborn as well.

My mom's usually fine to deal with, except she sometimes can't seem to remember that I'm not a little kid anymore and tries to watch over me and tell me what to do and give completely unneeded advice and opinions. I'm thinking "mom, I'm in university, I've lived on my own before, I know what I'm doing and can take care of myself".

My mom is always stressed out, even when there is no reason to be. It's really inconvienent, and makes me feel bad. And, she's always making me do things I don't want to do.
